Actual food critic here. First, be advised this is Monroe’s best restaurant. If that’s all you need to know then, yes, check it out. The Quarry and Public House being runners’ up. Yes, that means Monroe has VERY few good restaurants. The real issue with Quatro’s: Management and Ownership. Anyone who reads this can plainly see my review is impeccable, judicious and precise. Yet management wrote, deleted, subsequently reposted and AGAIN DELETED a nasty response below… I have eaten here five times and can recommend the soups, the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, and the gnocchi. I can not recommend any other dish I’ve had at this point because everything else I’ve had has been terrible. This brings me to Quattro’s second issue, consistency. The fact that they have such amazing food and such terrible food at the same establishment can ONLY be a management issue. And this is further underscored by having two names for the same restaurant (Brass Monkey). Such a concern may be ameliorated by (1) the owner being honest with themselves (2) replace the kitchen manager / expediter. I remember the owner raving about the kinnebec-style fries, which I tried. They weren’t even remotely edible the fist time I had them. Mealy and tasteless. The second time they were fine, and I do appreciate they are hand cut. Inconsistent! The pizza was terrible. TERRIBLE. Learn from the mean guy at Pope’s how to make real pizza. Bruschetta was ok. The burger was a shock. It literally looked like a frozen burger patty. Super thin. Ordered eggplant parm. Eggplant perfectly cooked. The soup was delicious, with plenty of chicken. The dinner rolls were probably the best I’ve ever had. But the issue was the “marinara” sauce. It was sugary to the point of tasting like dessert. Sugary pasta sauce is improper to the point of being embarrassing. It seemed as if someone dumped a can of tomato paste (which is sickeningly sweet) on my pasta because it was so close to closing time. The thing is, sugar isn’t needed. You just use clove instead, to sweeten the sauce. Also, to assume my review is intended to bash or harm a restaurant assumes bad faith. I only post reviews containing honest feedback from my firsthand experience in hopes the situation may be improved for future guests. My intentions and integrity are beyond reproach. I couldn’t address the issue in the restaurant at the time, as I ordered take out minutes before closing time. Otherwise I would have spoken to the kitchen manager. A marinara should be bright, with tomatoes boiled for MINUTES, thrown in an ice bath, skin peeled, tomatoes crushed, salt and pepper added. Not stewed for hours. Get new ownership...

Read moreWe’ve been wanting to check this out because it’s in Monroe, close to our home. Reviews were good. The booths are nice and private with curtains between. A good selection of wines. Bloody Mary’s don’t include olives, just lemons and limes.😕 A salad and soup are included with any dinner. We both got onion soup, it came covered in mozzarella cheese. It was excellent. The rolls were tasty too. House Cabernet was somewhat bitter, wouldn’t recommend it. Hubby got the steak bites with goat cheese gnocchi. He couldn’t chew several pieces of the steak. The gnocchi was overcooked and had the consistency of glue with the added goat cheese. I got the Chicken Supreme which said it was pieces of chicken breasts in a veloute sauce, with cream cheese and broccoli, topped with cheddar and mozzarella. The dish had way too much cheese with about 4 pieces of broccoli and chicken. It tasted more like a cheddar and mozzarella entree. Flavor was pretty bland. We were disappointed in our experience and won’t be back. We don’t recommend it. Our bill came to $100, including a $23 bottle of wine (the very cheapest). We also had the last available slice of chocolate mousse cake. It...
