Vera's Kitchen Monroe — Restaurant in Monroe

We stopped in for lunch to try out the new ownership. The food was pretty average. I really wanted to like this spot because of it's convenient location and fond memories of past visits. The positives: the fries were really great! They came out hot and extra crispy. The waitresses were very friendly and attentive. The negatives: the burgers were just ok. Seemed small and kinda dry. Nothing to "write home about". I guess we were sat next to the owners who were obviously enjoying a break. The lady was on a loud phone call on speaker with what sounded like customer service. The atmosphere was ruined at this point. I'm a firm believer that your paying customers should be a priority, not an afterthought. I hope this place does well but I personally won't be back...

Vera's Kitchen in Monroe is managed by the same family that owns Vera's in Waxhaw, so you know it's delicious food. Vera's in Monroe has tons of space inside, so if you wanted to have an office luncheon, there is enough room for everyone. The menu has a little bit of everything. I had the Hungry Lui Omlet, which has hame, bacon, sausage, and cheese. It's served with hashbrowns or homefries, toast, or biscuits. It was delicious 😋 Also tried cheese fries smoothed with cheese. Definitely plan to go back to try the Tres Leches with a cup of coffee. Stop in if you're in Monroe for some good food served...

I tried the red chilaquiles with steak at Vera’s Kitchen today. I ordered to-go because it was near closing time. When I got home and opened my plate I was blown away by how fresh and flavorful everything tasted! The ingredients were top quality, and the sauce vibrant and authentic. Every bite was a delight—by far some of the best chilaquiles I’ve had! I can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu.
