Read moreUnfortunately the vibe has totally changed since they fired the entire staff who worked there for over 10 years. The new crew seems nice, but nowhere near as personable or “fun” as the old crew. I don’t get that same hometown feel that I used to — it feels transactional.
London used to be PACKED on Fridays and some Saturdays but now every time I walk by, it’s dead.
I’ve popped in during the day a couple times and the vibe is pretty stale. It’s no longer the place to catch a game or celebrate a birthday.
Also, the Jukebox seems to prevent you from playing anything other than country music. Seems like they are only welcoming a specific crowd during daytime hours.
It’s unfortunate because I know there were issues with the party getting too much out of hand in the past, but I don’t think that was the bartenders’ fault.
Yes, the old bartenders poured with a heavy hand, but if I’m the owner, I’d rather keep my seats full with patrons who are ordering food and multiple drinks versus an empty bar where the drinks are overpriced and watered down (compared to the other bars nearby) — to where this just becomes a place to “stop in for 1 drink” rather than hang out all night with your friends.
R.I.P. to London because it’s dead in the hearts of hundreds...
Read moreThe service was great, but there were some issues with the food. People at our table who got anything fried (the fish and chips and the french fries) noticed that the oil taste was very strong and unpleasant. It tasted like the oil it was fried in hadn’t been changed in a while. Someone at our table got a coke but had to ask for a new one twice because she kept finding solid particulates floating at the top of her glass. I got the chicken sandwich and it was very good, but after heating up the other half to eat the next day I was left with a stomach ache. The atmosphere and decor is great, but the lighting was too dark. The music selection was great, but too loud. Our server was fantastic though and was attentive to people’s needs. The Cinnamon Toast Crunch Fireball shot was excellent. Overall I’d say if you’re going here to drink you should go for it, but I might pass...
