Let me start by saying that the food is good, ambiance is cute and prices are reasonable. Also BYOB, which is always a plus. It was my first night back in town and my boyfriend made reservations for us. We were promptly seated, but the good service ends there. A girl greeted us and brought wine glasses and water, but never came back to open the bottle. The place wasn't even half full, but we were left to sit for over 10 minutes. I finally got up and asked the hostess for a wine key or server, and about 5 minutes later another flustered waitress came to help us. She wrote down our order and eventually sent someone else to open our wine. This girl took our bottle to an empty table, struggled for a while to figure out how a wine key works, and I finally offered to open it myself. She thanked me and walked away.
Our soup came out first and was tasty, however I asked for parmesan cheese and it never came. My boyfriend got up and asked again for cheese and still no one brought it. Frustrating, but whatever. Then our salad came, but it wasn't what we ordered. No one came back to check on us, the previous dirty dishes stayed on the table, and eventually I placed these on another table and went to find our server to correct the order. She promptly fixed it and comped our salad. Then the entrees came about two bites into our appetizer and were left to get cold. The waitress finally checked back on us about 20 minutes later. She was friendly enough, but wow, that service was atrocious! Get better staff and train them please! You have lots of potential, but bad service makes for a bad experience. I will...
Read moreHahaha. Yeah ah pizz? No way. Hippy name for something which is such trash. Generally these very hipster places are expensive and have pretty decent food but damn this place was just awful all around.
I came in with a party of 9, and we orderd a few pies and one member got an entree. I was so surprised to see the crazy small pizza which they charged 18 dollars for. Eighteen! For a sub 10in pie. And it wasn't even filled with toppings. It was scarcely topped with a few pieces of chicken and was overly cheesy. The ah pizz pie was topped with maybe at most 5 halved cherry tomatoes, and was watery and soggy.
The entire night can be summed up in three words: watery, burned, and expensive. By the time the pies got to us they were on the bottom end of being warm. They were very soggy with the Margherita and ah pizz pies seeping water everywhere. The edges and bottom were well past crisp and were burnt to the point where half the bites were bitter. Let me tell you bitter and soggy doesn't make a good combination.
I don't mind paying for quality food. In fact I like visiting quality restaurants where dishes do reach upper 20s and 30s. However the keyword there is quality. Just because you have a fancy looking oven and add on foofoo toppings to seem quirky, doesn't mean you get to charge so much for so little.
P.S. Adding insult to injury, the waitress brought out 2 jugs of water between us 9 and didn't fill them up at all. Actually she didn't even come visit us aside from taking the order. And they charged 20% tip? Hah. Save yourself the time and money. I'd rather have any other pizza...
Read morePoor Customer Service on Labor Day! This past Monday, on Labor Day around 12:30 p.m., my wife, my daughter, and I visited your restaurant hoping to enjoy something different. Unfortunately, what we encountered was appalling and blatantly disrespectful customer service. One of the servers, who appeared to be Latina, treated us in an unfriendly and unhelpful manner. It almost seemed as though she wanted to say, “I don’t want to serve you,” and her behavior suggested she was doing us a favor or that we were somehow unworthy of being there. The irony of this situation is that my family and I are also LATINOS, so this is not an issue of prejudice on our part. Nonetheless, we felt discriminated against, and it was extremely unpleasant to experience such mistreatment—especially from someone who did not present themselves in a professional manner. I apologize if this sounds harsh, but it is the truth. Serving others is an art, and not everyone is suited for it. However, mistreating others can be done by anyone, and this situation made that very clear. I was left disappointed that I could not even review the food, which looked promising, because I will not return after such an unpleasant interaction. In the restaurant business, customer service must go hand in hand with good food—both need to be of equal quality for the...
