Thank goodness for Alfonso’s for restoring our Friday night Pizza nights!
We recently moved to the Princeton area from Essex county. I’m sure most NJ foodies would agree that Essex county is filled with amazing Italian restaurants and pizza places.
We have tried 4 different pizza spots that were supposed to be among the best in the Princeton area. None satisfied. I came across Alfonso’s and the history suggested this place might be closer to what we were looking for. The pizza didn’t disappoint!
If our favorite pizza spots in Essex county were a 10/10, Alfonso’s comes in at a strong second with a 9/10. I actually think it’s comparable and probably the closest to authentic, Italian made pizza that you will find in the area.
I had pretty much given up on my Pizza quest, but now we have found our new favorite, local spot! Don’t hesitate to try! We got extra cheese on the whole pie and pepperoni (mushrooms on half).

Read moreWe had an excellent experience dining here! The food and service were both top-notch. The garlic knots and cheesy garlic bread were freshly baked, buttery, cheesy, and with just the right amount of garlic. The antipasto salad was well balanced and mighty tasty. I had the eggplant rollatini with thin sliced ham which added an extra burst of flavor. I tried my husband’s veal parm and my brother-in-law’s chicken parm as well, which were perfectly cooked and crispy. For dessert, we shared freshly baked, oversized, fluffy Zeppolis with chocolate dipping sauce and cream. The cappuccinos were delightful as well. But the best part was the service. Our waitress was very attentive to our needs and so friendly. We love Stacy! And when it was a little less busy, the owners came to greet us and welcome us to their establishment. We were very impressed with the decor and layout. We will definitely be...
Read moreKim, Alex and team really outdid themselves at their wonderful Valentine's Day dinner last night!!! The prix fixe menu was superb and very extensive, with something for everyone. We had a hard time choosing, but every item, from the appetizer, salad and entree to the yummy tiramisu and cannoli for dessert was excellent! And even the bread, my favorite, was baked in a heart shape. The lights were turned down, fresh roses abounded on tables and the servers' lapels, and the placemats were even pink!! The best part of all was the warm and friendly vibe, with every table clearly having a blast. I don't know how we missed this all these years, but run, don't walk, next year (but of course, go now for lunch and dinners regularly, too!!!). You will not be disappointed!! Thank you so much for a lovely and memorable experience, Kim...
