As the economy is opening up and Montgomery citizens are making every effort to patronize local businesses, I was utterly appalled at the disrespectful behavior of the hostess at Kobe working the evening shift. Although I was taken aback by the handwritten sign on the door indicating a 18% gratuity for parties of 6 or more, which in my opinion, would discourage patrons from dining in; my family and I still made an attempt to patronize the business. However, as all but one person in our party of 12 had arrived at the restaurant, the hostess still insisted she could not seat us. This would have been fine except there were only six other patrons in the entire restaurant and our party remained seated in the lobby. To add insult to injury, we witnessed people walking in and going to a table while the hostess all but threatened us stating if we had additional guests to arrive, they “would not be able to be seated” with us. This was one of the most absurd things I have ever heard. When a request was made to speak to a manager, the nasty-attitude having hostess, rolled her eyes and mumbled under her breath. In all my years of eating at restaurants in Montgomery, I have NEVER encountered such an unprofessional, ill-equipped staff member. As a leader, I can’t see how there would be any way possible that she should be allowed to continue to work for this business. This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had at Kobe and what made it worse is that it was my daughter’s birthday. Needless to say, we took our money across the street to Walk Ons and received wonderful service from staff who acted like that came to work to serve those who walked through...
Read moreLast night was my first night dining here. Although the staff was great and the food was good I will never come back here. My friends and I met for dinner and we got hibachi. Once we were seated our waiter who was excellent took our food and drink order. The three of us ordered the Asian Sensation which was a very good drink. We really enjoyed our cook and as I said the food was good. When our waiter came to take our payment we noticed it was taking a while for him to come back. He was gone for about 25 minutes with our tickets and forms of payment . Once he returned he apologized for the long wait and proceeded to tell us that he was in the back trying to convince the manager that he had not given us free drinks. Now I'm not sure what made him/her think he was giving us free drinks because there was another couple also sitting at the table with us. They ordered the same drinks as we did plus two extra beers but when they got ready to pay there was no problem . Needless to say my friends and I were shocked and offended because our waiter was very nice and we never asked for anything free . It was an insult to us and to the waiter. We felt bad for him because he shouldn't have had to convince anybody of anything because he didn't do anything wrong and neither did we. We thanked our waiter for great service and we left a very nice tip for him. All I can say is that situation left a bad taste...

But the true highlight of the evening was the acrobatic chef, who dazzled and entertained with their mesmerizing skills. Playing with fire as they expertly cooked each dish before your eyes, the chef's performance added an extra layer of excitement and spectacle to the meal.
As the evening drew to a close, the restaurant staff surprised you with a joyous rendition of the Happy Birthday song, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of drums. It was a fitting end to a memorable dining experience, leaving you with cherished memories of delicious food, lively entertainment, and...
