Where do I begin? Let me start off by saying I was really excited to try this place. My husband and I decided to try it out on June3rd 2025. We went for dinner. As we arrive my husband dropped me off at the front door to go ahead and get us a table. I went in and was greeted by a young lady who then asked how many in my party. I stated that there was only two. She then proceeded to get our silverware and menus while looking around at empty tables. At that moment a tall blonde walked up and kind of took over the menus and asked me to follow her. She took us (my husband and I) in the back by the bathrooms and sat us at a table that was surrounded by customers in booths. We sat down and she stated that our waiter would be right with us. We sat there waiting for at least chips and salsa because that’s what they do at a Mexican restaurant. I then noticed that a couple was seated at the table behind us. I then told my husband that if they get served before us, that I was going to speak up. He then told me to just wait a little bit, so I did. I then notice our waiter walking to the booth next to us and talking to them. After waiting with no water, chips and salsa our waiter then finally came to our table and introduced his self as our waiter. We then asked for water, salsa, chips and queso. We also ordered our drinks from the bar. As we sat there waiting on something to get to our table, I noticed our waiter walking around like he was lost but then catering to all the other tables in his area but did not once tell us that our drinks or appetizer would be right out, he didn’t even look our way. About 8 minutes or so, our queso was brought out and sat on the table with still no chips, serving plates or water. About 3 min later we got our drinks from the bar and then followed by our chips and some salsa. So, I looked to my husband and told him I guess I’m making a mess with the cheese because we still have not received out small plates for our appetizer. When our waiter finally came around, we got his attention and asked if we could get the small plates for out appetizer. He later came out with two small plates and then he proceeded to put a large dinner plate next to me. I was asking my husband, what is this for? We have already ordered our main meal when we ordered our drinks. It really felt like our waiter was trying to avoid us. Oh, did I mentioned that the manager on-duty walked by us three different times speaking to every table around us except us. At this point I’m thinking that this has to be racially motivated. I didn’t mention that we are a mix couple. So about 20 to 30 waiting, the last straw was when again my husband got our waiters attention, he asked him to bring out another drink and stated that he wanted it right now or we were leaving. The waiter told him yes and then turned his back on us and continued with what he was doing, like he was ignoring us. I had my purse on my shoulder and was tearing up because I was so angry because it felt like we were being discriminated against. My husband and I are both veterans and I own a small pool maintenance company here in Montgomery. I have never in my lifetime experienced this kind of service or behavioral. I guarantee you this, I will NEVER step foot into this so call Tex-Mex restaurant again. I will be sure to share my story with all of my veteran friends and clients. On a good note, we did go to BIG SOMEBERO, and the service and food was...
Read moreLast Sunday was our third and final visit to this location. I know new restaurants, even established chains, have growing pains when they first open so we stayed away for a while to let them work out their kinks. Several months later, on our first attempted visit, the restaurant wasn’t even half full but we were still told over an hour wait for just 3 people. We left. Our second visit started about the same, restaurant wasn’t even half full and still quoted 30+ min wait for just 4 people. We decided to wait this time only to have subpar and slow service. The food was even worse. Half was over cooked and the other half was still raw. Our third (and final) visit was a week ago. Same thing. Restaurant wasn’t even half full and still quoted 20+ min wait for only 4 people. We didn’t choose the restaurant this time (our friends chose it not knowing its track record) or else we would have left. We stayed and were eventually seated. Our server was very nice this time and much better than before but still a little slow. The food was still mediocre and all our meals were lukewarm. Not even the plates were warm.
The only reason a restaurant that’s not even half full has a wait is due to lack of staffing. This place has been open for almost a year and is still struggling to be fully staffed? Sounds like a management issue not a lack of applicants issue. They’re the only restaurant around here with this problem.
This place has the potential to be really good, just like the Shenandoah location, but whoever is running this location needs to be retrained or replaced. This place is a disappointment and there are too many other Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurants in the area that are much better. Save your time and your money and go elsewhere until this place can get their...
Read moreMy husband and I are HUGE fans of Lupe Tortilla!! We frequent the Tomball and Cypress locations almost weekly. The service at this location was extremely sub par. It took about 10 min for our waitress to greet us, and then another 20min to get our margaritas. The Fajitas were perfect (as always!) But when the manager came by the table to ask how everything was my husband let him know the margarita was not great. The manager asked what kind it was and my husband responded with "house" and the manager said "oh that's why, if you want a really great marg you have to get the top shelf" I said "no, we are huge fans of Lupe Tortilla, yall have the best margaritas around, this one just doesn't taste like they usually do, it's overly citrus-y (like drinking straight lime and tequila)" the manager then said "oh that is because all of our margaritas are hand squeezed and the level of ripeness in the Limes varies...etc" he was more focused on trying to justify a gross margarita instead of saying "sorry about that, let us remake it for you"
Also, the table next to us was having a very loud, and foul-languaged domestic dispute for 45+ minutes. None of the staff asked them to settle down or to leave. I had to speak up to the table myself, because they had 3 kids with them and my two kids were with me and the kind of languge the wife was shouting to her kids and husband was absolutely abusive. Once I told her to shut up they finally left. The manager should have had them removed well before that happened. Our waitress did apologize to us for having to sit next to that. But an intervention would have been more appreciated.
Overall, I probably will not be back. The tomball, woodlands, and cypress locations provide much better service, and...
