Listen I went to this place awhile back and the moment I walked it it felt like I stepped into a episode of Lovecraft country.
It was no one but people of the lighter tone within the restaurant. It was four costumers in there and they were sat in two booths. The moment i stepped into the restaurant everyone stopped and just stared at us. Here comes this scrawny little man looking cocky and disgusted at me and my mother.
He goes " I'm sorry we're pretty packed right now so we don't have seats for you". Me and my mother look at each other confused. It's multiple tables sat out empty, so we ask to be sat outside. " yeah we can't sit you outside because the tables are pretty dirty".
So me and my mother leave, another lady of African decent walks in and she walls out within the next few moments looking upset to which she and my mother have a discussion about how weird this was.
Now a third lady comes in with her daughter , one of the vanilla ice cream seasoned skin tones, with her daughter. She comes back amd sits at the outside table.
We tried to engage in conversation with her but she seemed annoyed until she finally answered with that Straight smile that they like to do. " Oh they told us we could sit anywhere".
My mother goes back in and tried to tall to the serve and they come back outside where he says " well we don't have any room for you people". My mom starts to be upset but I tell her to come in that it isnt worth it.
This was about two years ago but someome jist got me food from there and told me about their horrible experience while trying to get the food. I just thought about it . Every single black person I know has had a bad experience here. Now I know correlation isn't causation but still. For yalls food to be bland and tastless do you have room to be rude. How are you gonna be called rock and roll sushi but it taste like contemporary pop? Thoughts and dreams of...
Read moreI placed an order over the phone Saturday May 16th at 1:16pm. My order # was T26 & my order ID was 27522602. I ordered the Jimi Hendrix Roll ($11.95), Pearl Jam Roll ($12.95), & a chicken hibachi ($12.95). The subtotal was $37.85, tax was $3.79, GRATUITY was $4.16, & the total was $45.80. I called to ask why I was charged gratuity when I never dined in, since everything is closed due to COVID. The response I received was since customers aren’t tipping our servers, we’re taking it from each order...... I’m completely dumbfounded on how this company just thinks it’s okay to TAKE someone’s money & pay THEIR employees without their consent. I completely understand that since there’s a pandemic & servers aren’t paid minimum wage (they survive off tips). However, it’s NOT the CUSTOMER’s responsibility to make sure your employees are earning money, it’s the EMPLOYER’s responsibility. Therefore, Rock n Roll needs to either cut their labor OR pay their employees a “pandemic bonus pay”. I know of several company’s (like mine) that are paying their employees extra due to the pandemic, because it’s their responsibility to make sure their employees are taken care of. It wouldn’t be right if every time I assisted a customer with a banking need, I took $5 dollars from them without their consent since my employer isn’t paying me appropriately. It’s called STEALING & unfair. Sadly, the gratuity was more than the actual sales tax. Also, if I might add, there were 4 employees on your clock & when I arrived one of them was outside sitting with friends while they drank...... & she just so happen to be the server that placed my order, so where’s the need for a gratuity? Seems like the other three had everything inside under control. I doubt I come back to this establishment after the pandemic, but I definitely won’t order or recommend it as long as this pandemic...
Read moreWhile this location does offer a 10% military discount, this is about the only thing positive they have going for them. My family was the first customers in to restaurant today (it opened about 4 minutes late, making us wait in the hot sun), and it was clear that it was dirty and the floors were not cleaned from the previous day, nor had the trashcans been emptied in the restroom. Only one person was working the front of the restaurant today (Latricha) and she was clearly understaffed--even though we were the only people in the restaurant, it still took an 45 minutes to get our food out to us. Also, we were overcharged--we were supposed to get three miso soups but the hostess only brought us two. I waited about 5 minutes to talk to the hostess to resolve the issue, but she never came out from the back so I just left--it wasn't worth wasting more of my time. I also had to flag the hostess down to bring out soy sauce for my family, which took about 5 minutes again to get her attention. Finally, while the atmosphere tries to be hip, the music volume was WAY to loud, and I had to negotiate with the staff to have it lowered even though my family was the only ones in the restaurant. Do yourself a favor, go to Yokohama Japanese Restaurant on Vaughn and Bell Road; you will have a much...
