Went with a friend. Got there about 11:30 am. Waited to be seated 15 min. Decided to seat ourselves at the bar. 2 other tables in the entire restaurant with customers . The waiter was also the bartender. Waited another 10 minutes and went back to the front and got menus for us. 2 tables of 2 came in after I had gone to get the menus. They waited about 5 minutes before being recognized. A girl in a pink hoodie seated them. The bartender/Server got their drinks and took them to them. He then came behind the bar and asked for our drink order. Me, tea. My friend, a frozen drink. My tea was served by the runner in the kitchen and the frozen drink came later after the Bartender/Server checked on one of his tables, made a frozen drink for them and then made the one for my friend. My friend ordered a slab of ribs and sides. I ordered a Burger. About 5 minutes later the Bartender/Server came over to let us know they had only a 1/2 slab of ribs available. It is now close to an hour that we have been waiting on everything including being seated. Another server came in about 12:15. I had finished my tea by now. I set the glass at the end of the bar, hoping I might get a refill. Food came out by the same food runner from the kitchen. I felt pretty much ignored through the entire experience. I have worked in the Restaurant Business since 1982. Have owned and sold 3 business. I'm not the guy that gripes if I don't have a napkin or fork. My friend's salad came out. No silverware or napkins. I reached over on an empty table that had rolled silverware and got it myself. When my burger and his ribs came out I asked the food runner if I could get some mayo. I stopped the bartender/Server if I could have another tea in a Styrofoam cup. He typed something on his pad and went to the end of the bar. A few minutes later, the food runner brought me a glass of tea from the kitchen. Meanwhile the bartender/Server came to me at the same time with one he had made in a Styrofoam cup as I had asked. I had him give me a Styrofoam plate to put the other 1/2 of my burger into. My friend had brought me to the restaurant to thank me for some work I had done for him. I was so disappointed in the entire experience that I told my friend I would meet him by the car. One other thing.... My friend is deaf but reads lips and speaks very well. I kept repeating to my friend what the bartender/Server was asking him.. the bartender/Server just kept looking down at his pad he had laid behind the bar and spoke to his pad, not to my friend. I didn't want to upset my friend so I left. My friend paid the tab. When he came out, I asked if he tipped.. he said no to my surprise. I asked why and he told me he could see on my face how aggravated I was and had to try and ask for the check which was the quickest thing we got that day. I'm sure I won't be back to that Outback. I have NEVER had anything like this happen at any of the other Outback Restaurants. Just wanted you to know... the only person who even resembled a manager was the guy trading out the dirty rugs for clean ones.. I asked. He...
Read moreWhen I first got here the restaurant was only about half full. I was greeted by a wonderful woman who took my name and informed me that I would receive a text message when my table was ready. This gave me the opportunity to look through the menu and to decide what I really wanted. I wasn't rushed at all. When my table was ready I walked up to the hostess stand and asked the young lady who was hosting If she enjoys her job. She answered in the affirmative. I could already tell that she did simply because of the smile on her face. What I was seated a gentleman named Andrew or Drew informed me that he would be my server and if I need anything I was to let him know. I ordered the original prime rib medium rare, Caesar salad with the loaded baked potato for my entree. I also decided on some of the fried mushrooms. About a minute or so later a warm and delicious load of honey molasses wheat bread was in front of me with that creamy succulent butter. Oh my my. Needless to say it didn't last long. When my lightly battered mushrooms arrived with my Bleu cheese dressing instead of ranch, I was so excited. Why you ask? Because Drew remembered that I didn't want ranch. Oh and did I mention that Drew took my complete order as well as the table of three in front of me without his pad. Smart man. Yes! The mushrooms were plump and juicy. Delicious. When my salad and entree arrived I was in awe. I mean the salad, come on, that salad was the least thing on my mind. If you will look at the pictures of the prime rib you will understand. The marbling was fantastic. Perfectly medium rare. The potato was cooked just right. I love the salted brown butter taste of the Outback baked potato. ( I have a recipe that is just as bit better than theirs but that's in my cookbook.) I will say, I really don't do chain restaurants because they tend to (suck) lose quality control as they expand. But this location has maintained quality and exceptional service. And the food is good. Back to the storyline, I truly enjoyed myself. I'm not sure that you could find better service and satisfaction anywhere else in Montgomery. Oh and did I mention the service. It was...
Read moreJanuary 5th marked our 23rd wedding anniversary. My husband thought it would be nice if we went out and had a celebratory dinner. It took us about 10 to 15 minutes to get a table. It was down hill from there. Our waiter started by taking our orders. We started with something simple such as tea.blooming onion, bread and 1 beer. We finally got the bread. I asked about the appetizer he looked surprised and said my bad. It turned out to be greasy n cold not eatable. My husband is very tolerant but almost 1 hour in my husband found the waiter and asked for tea refills and about his beer the waiter replied my bad. He broght the beer, refilled the tea and brought my salad which was a side for my dinner. Finally over an hour in my husband said lets pay n leave. I got the waiter told him to cancel our dinner bring us the check. The young man said whats wrong. My husband said its the service. He gave us the ticket with a reply i have a large table sorry(remember they are seated at half capacity) . He leaves and i find somebody to cash me out. I go back toward the kitchen with the host. The manager came out and said i remember you. I seated you over an hour ago and you haven't got your dinner yet. No i replied we had 2 teas bread the cold blooming onion and 1 beer on the table. Here is my ticket -. Can i just pay its my 23rd wedding anniversary and we just want to leave. He again apologized saying he was helping in the kitchen and comped the teas. Everything else never made it to the table. The nicest thing was the manager apologizing. We went home hungry and disgusted realizing dining out will never be the same due to the pandemic. I feel sorry for people in the...
