This review is for Water Works Rooftop bar At Trilogy in Montgomery. Went to have a few drinks and some snacks before a 7:30pm concert. Sunday 10/8. Got to the roof at 5:15, (bar opens at 4:00). Very comfortable rooftop lounge area only 2 other guests were there at the time. Didn’t see a hostess on the way in. We chose a table and sat down, waiting to order drinks. We continued to sit for almost 10 minutes. I decided to go into the bar to see what was up. I passed the now present Hostess and commented, “No table service?” And was assured yes, as I continued into a guest free bar with a bartender and a kitchen with two staff and No customers. The young male bartender, walked past me three times before I asked how to get a drink in this bar? I said we had been at our table for a long time with no service. I ordered two draft beers and the Charcuterie plate. It was 5:30. Went back to the table. Two more guests appeared. We waited almost 20 more minutes until a friendly and apologetic young (possibly management) woman told us that they didn’t have the beers that I ordered and did we want something else. We ordered in stock draft beers and told her that I had also ordered the Charcuterie plate, and that we had now been there for 45 minutes with no food or drinks. Shortly (5 minutes) we were served two complimentary beers, that were good, no food yet. So… 15 minutes later, (6:00 pm), our plate was delivered with excuses and apologies. The prosciutto and salami were typical, the fruit and nut accompanying were satisfactory, the bread was stale ( yesterdays bread). As we nibbled the meats and fruit, we finished our beers and we had not had a service person come by in 20 minutes with empty beer glasses on the table. Two more tables of guests had arrived. I had to go back into the bar, new female bartender. Three guests at the bar, with drinks. I asked her why is it so hard to get drinks in her bar. I ordered more draft beer. She asked which beers, I said what do you have? She didn’t really know and didn’t offer me a menu. I just said “you choose “. 10 minutes later our beer was delivered. No charge. Everyone was pleasant and polite, but didn’t seem to realize that bars make money by actually selling food&beverage and that empty glasses on tables are a sales opportunity with accompanying tips. A Bizarre experience with a nice view and comfortable seating. Something is askew with the system of order and delivery, if there is one.

As a local person, I wondered why I had not eaten here before. Then I ate here. Let's start with the positive. Entering the Trilogy Hotel after valet parking ($15+app fee and tip), the location is very pretty and clean. Awesome decor in the lobby. All the staff were very friendly and obviously eschewed the Marriott customer service values. The restaurant staff was equally trained and doing as well as they could. The food was edible, we didn't leave hungry. However,...most of the items on the menu were out of stock. We had to settle for burgers/sliders and the teriyaki chicken. The burgers were decent but not going to win any awards. The teriyaki chicken was unique. It wasn't inedible but the teriyaki flavor was difficult to describe, sort of teriyaki with sweet and burnt (despite not being burnt) undertones. Overall, the location was nice and we enjoyed each other's company. We decided that the food was probably best left for the guests in the hotel who were too tired to go out. Maybe we will try the other restaurant downstairs in the future but would not valet park here (a little pricey for dinner parking despite great service there). The food was overpriced for the quality as well.

We stopped by Waterworks on a Saturday afternoon for drinks and appetizers. The rooftop lounge is beautiful with great views of downtown Montgomery, but it was just too hot to enjoy earlier in the day. There were no fans or airflow, so we chose to sit inside. We ordered cheese curds, truffle fries, lemon pepper wings, and a pizza. The cheese curds were excellent, and the wings were so good we ordered a second round. The truffle fries were solid but nothing special. Unfortunately, the pizza was a letdown—it’s cooked in a wood-fired oven, but it tasted more like a frozen pizza. There are better options for pizza downtown. Drinks were tasty, but service at the bar was slow. It wasn’t busy, but it still took about 20 minutes to get simple cocktails. We came back later that evening and were able to enjoy the rooftop once the temperature dropped. The view is fantastic and definitely worth a visit. Overall, Waterworks has a great atmosphere and is a perfect spot for drinks and small bites—especially in the evening. We’ll be back for the wings and the rooftop vibe, but we hope to see improvements in service and pizza quality.

This place is open. The outside area is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The music outside provides for a nice sit and talk atmosphere, and outside furniture is comfortable. The food that was brought out was actually quite delicious, from the pizza to the burgers to the wings and fries. The accommodation of the large party to use the couches made for a nice sitting area.

However, the service on our night was less than subpar. When my friends and i came to the establishment and sat down, we ordered drinks and food at 7:30. After an hour of waiting, none of the drinks were brought out to the party to the point we just cancelled all the drinks. The service did bring out water, but a third of our table did not have water. We were told they would bring out more water to us, which did not happen. When asked about this twice to multiple waiters, none were brought out, and we had to go to the bar just to ask and get water. Delivery of food to everyone was inconsistent with timing, where some were brought food quickly into the evening and for others it took more than an hour to receive their plate. Finally on check out, just to get the check itself, it took another 30 minutes just to receive the check!

While the waiters and waitresses expressed their apologies and gratitude for our patience, the amount of wait time and failure to deliver drinks, prompting a cancelation of drinks, does not bode well for service in the establishment. I recommend they have more night wait staff to accommodate parties. As I will give a positive point, that the food is delicious.. but no plate of food worth...

Review Title: Disappointing Birthday Experience

I recently visited this restaurant for a birthday dinner tonight 5-30-25, and it was an absolute disaster. From the moment we walked in, the service was horrible. The staff was severely understaffed and, to make matters worse, they were incredibly rude. They didn’t inform us until the end that they couldn't separate checks, which felt like a huge oversight and lack of communication. They didn’t even take the birthday girl order, she had to wait after everyone else got their food.

We waited an entire hour just to get our drinks, and then another hour for our food. The waitress was slow and completely inattentive to our needs, leaving us feeling completely ignored and she not one time apologized instead she kept lying about things all while the manager disputing us telling us that we were basically lying about the waitress (disgusting). Not once did anyone apologize for the long wait, which really added to the frustration.

To top it all off, the drinks were watered down and not worth the wait. It’s evident that the management needs to step up their game; cause without experienced managers and staff, this place is bound to lose its potential. I will definitely not be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience. Save yourself the trouble! DO NOT GO HERE, it was a horrible experience and apparently I’m not the only one judging from its reviews. Had I checked reviews prior, I wouldn’t have went but I definitely will...
