I placed a mobile order on the app for a drive-thru pickup. The app states to proceed to the drive-thru and let the associate know you placed a mobile order. I approached the drive-thru window (after a 15 minute wait) and informed the employee I had an order with my name. He promptly asked if I ordered it through the drive-thru speaker. I replied that it was a paid mobile order with a drive-thru pickup. Without thinking about the words that came out of my mouth, he said I needed to order at the speaker and drive around again. I said that I was not going to do that (there were now 4 cars behind me). The store manager then yelled at me (yes, the manager!) through the drive-thru window because I would not drive around back to the speaker and place my order. It was absolutely shocking…and undignified. I have never seen such abhorrent behavior from a manager at any store (who are usually trained by corporate offices to behave themselves professionally). I proceeded to video the encounter (or what was left of it) since people usually start to act up real nice when a video is recorded. Another male employee showed up stating that he could have the order made and it would be brought out to me. Sounds like a nice option, but I didn’t believe them. I said that I would be happy to wait there. In the end, I left and contacted my credit card to have the order refunded. No way in hell was I going to eat the food they brought out to me.
Wendy’s purports to value quality and leadership, stating: “Quality food can't be made without quality leadership.” This standard not only fell short on 21 March 2023, it was obliterated with the deplorable actions of a store manager and her team. She would not provide her actual name when asked, but offered a fake name “Keisha” instead. Her employees (male “Courtney”) and another young female employee (not wearing name tag) were clearly products of the environment at this Wendy’s, brusquely defending their store manager and laughing when I mentioned I would inform corporate about this encounter. It was all a big joke to them. They have obviously heard this from customers before…and, as in the past, Wendy’s corporate leadership has done nothing to correct their poor behavior. Alas, it will continue unabated and Wendy's "quality" will continue to erode in all aspects.
Wendy’s Restaurants, Inc. must be made aware about the quality of the people they employ to represent their brand to the community and lead their team members. This outburst and unprofessional behavior is unacceptable from anyone, even a downtown Montgomery...
Read moreTonight I went into Wendy's on Madison Ave. I asked what came with the $5 JCB special on the outside sign. Young lady at the counter said junior cheese burger with extra patty. I said "ok, give me one of those". She said "I can't sell you that". I said "why not"? She said cause the manager said I can't sell anymore of those she had to go to store for nuggets. I asked what does that have to do with the meal. She hateful said cause it comes with the meal. I stated that's why I asked what came with the $5 special and you never mentioned nuggets. Since she was rude and not speaking up to answer my question I turned to leave heading to the door She then started talking about me to other customers. I walked back to counter and asked what did you say about me? She wouldn't answer and I asked where is a manager then she turned her back towards me and wouldn't speak. REALLY!!! There was another lady there that I believe was also a manager but working the fryers and she wouldn't come over to see what was going on either. This was the worse service I've ever had at this location and I will not be back..... I left and went...
Read moreWalked in with a mobile order. Witness a young lady with her fingers in her mouth chewing her nails. I mean she was really digging into her mouth. The manager came out from the back and asked why they hadn't given me my food. I had placed my order pickup at the set time I arrived (waited for over 10 mins over the set time). She went back into her office to retrieve something came back and ordered someone to make my food. Well, the young lady that previously had her fingers in her mouth begins to make my hamburger with no gloves. Even one of the ladies noticed I was watching her. She looked up and we made eye contact with me. She replied to the other lady "I don't care". Once I received the meal I walked to the front door and trashed the sandwich and walked out the door. I work in downtown Montgomery in one of the government buildings. I let all my coworkers know the story and said to them if you value your health don't go to this Wendy's location. Because they don't practice safe food practices. I work down the hall from the Alabama Health Department. I should stop by and let them know...
