Never go here. If there were negative numbers available to choose from concerning service, I would have used them. I've ordered take out from this place many times in the past. The food is better than average and generally quite good. My issues with this place have to do with the really astoundingly sorry "service." For one thing, their English capabilities leave very much to be desired. None of them have a very good command of that language, and all the workers routinely speak in their native tough (mostly laughing). More seriously, though, they routinely try to charge for things that are nowhere posted. When this happened to me (after picking up several packets of condiments for the two dinners I ordered -- something I have done countless times in the past without incident), I was told there was a charge for it. I asked to speak to the manager or owner. He was not there, so instead I was referred to his wife. This woman is perhaps the rudest person I've ever come across in a restaurant. Her utter lack of concern for something that was clearly their fault because they apparently don't know how to make a sign, not to mention off-the-scale rudeness was astonishing. For something so stupid, she was insisting I pay an additional dollar for my condiments (duck sauce and hot mustard) even after I explained I had done it for years without being asked to pay for it. At that point, she said something nasty to me, put her hand out toward my face indicating she was done talking to me, and asked another customer to come up and order. I was not making a huge stink; I spoke softly and just wanted to point out that if they are going to charge for such things, they might want to make it known to their customers ahead of time. I was talking to the hand by that point, so it was not worth any oxygen to speak with her anymore. I left the store after asking and receiving the name of the owner. His voicemail is not set up. As much as I hate to say this, and based upon my many experiences there and ability to see how they interact with customers, it is very obvious to me that if you are a boring white person, and not Asian, you will not be treated very well. I have always blown it off until this last time because it was so much worse. But in my opinion, based on what I've seen, you will be treated worse there if you are an average white guy. Needless to say, I have no plans to ever return and am seriously considering a letter-writing campaign to all the appropriate State and federal agencies regulating that place. I would never recommend this place for anyone. Go somewhere else, unless you enjoy being treated like total crap and being nickel and dimed on things that are normally free in just about any other...

Read moreChina House – A Total Culinary Disaster
I have never been more appalled by a dining experience than I was at China House. The food here is an absolute travesty. If you enjoy foul, flavorless mush drenched in what can only be described as industrial-grade goop, then this might be your dream spot. For anyone with taste buds, it’s a nightmare.
Let’s break it down: The texture of everything was revolting—mushy, soggy, and utterly indistinguishable from one dish to the next. Everything I ordered seemed to have been sitting out for hours, as if the kitchen has given up entirely. The flavors? Nonexistent. Bland, oily slop with no spice, no depth, and no freshness. It tasted like they were serving reheated leftovers from last week. The quality of the ingredients? Horrifying. The meat was chewy and rubbery, the vegetables were limp and lifeless, and the sauces…oh god, the sauces. They were thick, gelatinous, and strangely sweet with a chemical aftertaste, as if they had been concocted in a lab rather than a kitchen.
China House has managed to achieve what I thought was impossible: making Chinese food that is both inedible and unforgettable, for all the wrong reasons. If this restaurant stays open another day, it will be a testament to people’s willingness to suffer.
Avoid this place at all costs. There are plenty of good Chinese restaurants in town—this is NOT one of them. If you value your time, money, and digestive health, steer clear of this culinary disaster. China House deserves to close its doors, and frankly, it can’t happen...
