Louie's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Moore

My family and I visited this Louie's location last week to celebrate our autistic son's 10th birthday. He has made it very clear for the past 4 months that this was his only wish for his big special day. "Louie's Louie's Louies!" He would shout and plead. It nearly drove wifey mad. All of this to say he was beyond excited for this rowdy rumpus rendezvous. When we arrived, the young girl at the counter didn't bother looking up from her phone. It took wifey a stern "Excuse me?" after waiting a few minutes for her to finally acknowledge us. She didn't smile, welcome us in, or even apologize for the wait. We brushed it off as just angsty teenager behavior, took our seats, and proceeded onwards, adamant on making our little boy's 10th year on earth not one soon to be forgotten. The tables that were actually available (very few) were filthy, sticky, and the food attendants were unenthusiastic and cold. The floor looked as if it hadn't been vacuumed or cleaned in centuries, and the table side all you can eat guacamole was a bacteria brigade; food-poisoning just waiting to happen! After only 1 hour at this Louie's location my son was begging to leave, nearly in tears. I considered speaking with the manager and wifey made me realize it's not even worth the effort, staff doesn't give a hoot! My special little man's day was utterly soiled. If you're looking for more of a "Rotten Ruckus" and less of a "Ravishing Rumpus", then this is the spot for you! All in all this was a horrendous, traumatic experience and you've just lost my entire family's business. As part of a girl cousin's weekend, 5 cousins and 2 aunts went to this Louie's location based on one cousin's recommendation for lunch and cocktails. We placed our order, our cocktails were served, then our waitress (who was wonderful and deserves 5 stars!!!!) told me the manager stated my request to substitute avocado for chicken on the Asian Chicken Salad would result in an up charge. I asked to speak to the manager, explained to him that I do not eat meat so just wanted a couple of slices of avocado in place of the chicken. He then told me that avocados were expensive and tried to justify his decision. We then cancelled our order, paid for our drinks and then my 82 year old mother went to the restroom, which was dirty and had a leaky toilet so water was on the floor. The tack stripping on the floor was pulled up (see picture) and she tripped on it (fortunately she caught herself before falling). I told Derick (the manager) about this and he started justifying his reasoning on the substitution again, never once asking if my Mom was OK. He apparently didn't care about 2 things - loosing sales from a group of 7 people over a couple of slices of avocado and the safety issue we pointed out. We left this location and went to the one in Norman, which I would highly recommend. We visited on a Friday night and opted for their "Choose Two" option ($9.99) , allowing for a house or Caesar salad, bowl of soup or chili, combined with a half-portion Deli sandwich. My wife and I each chose the special Gouda soup offered; while I chose the Cuban for my sandwich, and my wife chose the "Diablo."

Our results were mixed. The Gouda soup was really nothing more than tomato soup with Gouda sprinkled on top, and was disappointing. My Cuban sandwich was ok, but sparse on mustard, and the bun a bit small. My wife's Diablo, a chopped skirt steak sandwich, was very tasty, served with a generous portion of meat, and easily became the favorite of our meal.

I, personally, would not get the Gouda soup again, not because it was bad, but because it was just unremarkable. It was tomato soup with Gouda garnish. I was expecting a cheese soup heavily flavored with Gouda as a feature.
