W/ the exception of Corine herself, the wait staff at her buisness is universally polite and helpful--they do what they can to help you. However, the food is virtually inedible. We ordered hamburger steak recently and it looked and probably tasted like the bottom of a shoe. Tough, cold, flavorless. As for the sides, right out of the box or can. On another occasion for breakfast, my wife found an inch and a half long shining strand of metal from a scrub pad in her hash browns. (Imagine that winding its way through your intestinal tract We politely brought it to Corine's attention and she took the plate and left us w/o so much as an apology.) A customer is left to wonder who does the cooking for the cafe, but it is clear that they hate their work and could care less what they shovel out to the inmates--my guess is ex-prison 'chefs'-. It must be mortifying (or should be) or at minimum embarassing for the wait staff to serve such awful messes. Survival of Corine's has as much to do w/ a lack of alternatives for eating out in a 'restaurant'' in Mooresville as anything having to do w/ its food. If you get hungry, hit one of the dozen or more fast-food chain spots in this torturous town before considering Corine's. Oh..., the coffee is pretty good if you get there early. enough, but be careful w/ the sausage--back to the shoe sole...
Read moreOk. So being an Optimist, a fair review of "Corine's Cafe" . upon entering the cafe at 9am we noticed they were busy and waited to be seated. After 5 min of waiting, we decided to comendere one of the empty, un-bussed tables for the 3 of us. After another 10 min. A waitress brought us two menus and took our drink order. 5 min later she returned with our drinks and took our orders. Almost 20 min later our food arrived. Upon hunting through our plates for "Edible" items, i found that 2 pieces of sausage and a biscuit were my choices for breakfast. My eggs up were not cooked completely so they were out. My hash browns were fresh from the freezer and just as cold, uncooked. Our other meals played out in the same manner. Hunt to find something edible. The next time we saw our waitress was when she dropped off our check 6 min later. Recieving an untotaled ticket. We were told to pay up front. No thanks for comming by. No have a great day. So waiting longer in a line to pay our check than it took to recieve our food and eat it, we decided that our choice for breakfast was not the best one today. I could recommend a multitude of remedies however i believe the feedback previously posted here says volumes as to if changes will ever be made. Maybe next time if...
Read moreMy husband and I ate at this restaurant quite frequently. Service and the food at OK, but today made me really think about who I support from here on out. First, my husbands sausage was not done, they took it back and we waited and waited, and our server finally asked if we got it yet and we said no. So we waited and waited again, nothing. So we went to pay our bill. As we paid our bill our card was being charged an additional Fifty cents, not much. But I had to ask, I asked what was it for, she said for using a card, which I knew. This is how owners keep from paying fees on credit card services through their providers. So I asked the owner when and if she had a day where I could come back and discuss options on her payment processing system? She said very rudely " No never, I will never have time and do not ask me about it again". And repeated it! I guess I am upset because, #1 I support your business, and then I had a problem with my food that NO ONE ever addressed or apologized for, then THE OWNER following up with being rude. That shows me who you are and how you treat people/customers. It flows from the head down! I never complain and rate businesses but People please treat people kind especially running a...
