Took my mom here to celebrate her birthday earlier this week. She wanted to come here for the salmon. We get there and the hostess who sat us, she greeted us but never told us to follow her to the table, I didn't catch on that she was leading us until she got half way to the table. We weren't given silverware and asked for some. First server was a nice lady and she got us our drinks swiftly. I placed my order with her but when we tried placing my mom's order, we were informed there was no salmon tonight. She said she'd come back. We never saw this server again. 2nd server came to take our order and I mentioned to her that the previous girl already took mine so she took my moms. I asked for silverware again. 3rd server or maybe a cook, he came over to question our order because in the end, only my mom's order was run in. The other lady never rang in my order or passed it along. I appreciated him coming out to correct it. He brought us the salad and when I asked him for silverware, he immediately got it. Expo/Food runner brought our dinner. Mom's was fine, asked for extra butter which she got. My burger was absolutely wrong. It was well done (asked for med rare). I ordered the LH burger with no lettuce, onion, or tomatoes. It came with just cheese and pickles. No server ever checked in on us, no refills, nothing. Had to hail down someone to bring us the bill.
I learned we were charged top dollar rum for my mom's drink (a simple rum & diet coke, nothing fancy) which you never do unless specified. I've worked in bars before, unless they ask for top shelf, you give them the house rum (or even ask to specify). My mom does not like Captain Morgan so that $10 was not something she enjoyed drinking it (she only drank it because she knew a server wouldn't come to change it).
This is my second time coming here and we won't be back to this location. If staffing is an issue I can understand, but I shouldn't have to stand around waiting at the host stand for someone to come over to me as I waited to complain. I gave up after 10 minutes. Had I been a different customer, they would have lost business.
Overall, I am so unhappy. I paid in full because not a single server offered to do anything and after have 4 different people come to my table I figured there wasn't any consistency here. I didn't leave a tip (which I have never ever done) because I had zero clue who the tip would go to. Hopefully this doesn't happen to others but it wasn't how I wanted to celebrate my...
Read moreAbsolute worse experience I’ve had since being down here. I went in today to the bar and received horrible service from your bartender that was working. I arrived and waited approximately 10 mins and was not greeted nor asked if I had been taken care of. I didn’t want to bother the staff, they had seem to be busy so I waited. The lady bartender who had taken other people’s orders who came after me proceeded to wash glassware. A gentleman came by and asked had I been helped. I told him not yet I had been waiting and he informed me that he would be right back. After another 5 minutes I asked the bartender who had been there when I first arrived was anyone available to take my order. She informed me that she thought the gentleman who walked over after 10 -15 mins of waiting was taking care of me. I informed her that I had been waiting for 10 mins or so and nobody has taken my order. Seemly annoyed by response the woman bartender you all have working today responded “okay” nonchalantly as if I was the problem. I ignored it and informed her on what I was intending to order. She ask “Would you like salt or sugar” for my drink. I ask for whatever was easiest and she proceeded to tell me “Well it’s your drink” I politely ask for salt. As I’m on the phone my friend can hear how rude she was and as I’m talking to him stating how the whole interaction was crazy she then goes to tell me “You asked for me” and “You can go somewhere else” “You don’t have to be rude”. I smiled and proceeded to exit the restaurant. Before leaving I asked for a manager. The host came back after another 5 mins to tell me “The manager is on the phone and we don’t know how long they will be before they are out”. I responded by saying to the host “Of course the manager is unavailable”. I overheard the bartender explaining how I was rude and etc to other guest and another co- worker. I’ve been in management for years and this employee displayed the worse service I have ever experienced. This is an ambassador of LongHorn Steakhouse who you have on the front lines turning away customers. The incident took place approximately at 8:55 pm May 20th, 2023.I would like someone from corporate or a manager to...
Read moreWe've dined at Longhorn Steakhouse in Mooresville, NC about a dozen or so times and we almost always very satisfied with our meals which is why always we come back. My wife and I dined here this evening and experienced what we felt was a very elevated level of service compared to our previous dining experiences at this location that prompts this review.
Tonight was extremely busy given that it is a Saturday and it is somewhat understandable and almost expected for most servers to not be as attentive. Not the case at all with Ayana tonight who stepped up for us big time. I would add that she even covered for a busy kitchen who was slow with our appetizer by bringing our salads sooner than expected. Ayana's attention to us overshadowed what could have set the tone for a poor dining experience. I would equate it in football terms like a teammate fumbling the ball and your star wide receiver recovering it and running it in for a touchdown.
To servers out there...little things count when it comes to dining satisfaction, and with everything being so expensive everywhere, consider that patrons may choose to go elsewhere next time. Does the customer have everything they need? Are their glasses empty? Are they satisfied with their meal?
Being in the service industry ourselves, customer service is super important to us. It is every bit as important as the meal itself! It is really refreshing and reinforces to us as frequent restaurant patrons that there are still servers who take pride in what they do and want to serve you well.
To restaurant patrons....step up with a nice tip when you receive it and ask for that server again on your next visit. They will likely repeat the exceptional service. When you visit Longhorn Steakhouse in Mooresville, please ask for Ayana and let her know you read about her in this review. We'll certainly be asking for her again.
Note to management: Please ditch the awful bread you currently serve and bring in sourdough. It'll be just one more reason people will want to dine at Longhorn Steakhouse other than just...
