We tried out the new online pickup feature for groceries at Wal-Mart. It is a good idea for busy families who don't have time to shop. $30 minimum isn't terrible either. You can choose to have them substitute an item if they don't have what you want. You alert them that you are on your way and they get everything ready for you. When you arrive, the app will tell you what spot number to park in and they bring it out. First I should say that I only shop for what I need for the week and in my experience with it this is what I found.

1. the particular items I typically get wasn't available online. I.e. Manwich original - small can; the other flavors were available as well as the larger size original Pineapple tidbits - larger can; the smaller was available as well as chunks and slices
2. 2% percent milk was coming up $7.00 and when you go inside the store it is $1.99
3. ordered bratwurst buns from bakery- not available. Received email receipt and found that they weren't in with groceries, and no substitute was provided.
4. ordered Great Value pizza dough 13.8 oz $1.98 - wasn't available; substituted Pillsbury pizza dough 11 oz $1.98. Not a huge issue, getting better quality dough I suppose but smaller packaging.

With that being said; it is an experience that I would likely do again if I was in need of...

While I appreciate the sentiment and transparency of donations & sales of the restore to fund the operations of the non-profit......most pricing in the stores has gotten out of hand. What used to be a place where one could get a decent deal on a variety of things is now priced out as a full blown big box store, only used! Oops paint that is .50¢ at one of the home repair stores is $2.00 here. Used furniture priced like new high end furniture. Mirrors that had store price tags still on them priced $25+ above those tags. The same stuff sits around week to week because stuff is just too expensive. Why buy used when I can get it free for the same price or even cheaper? Where I can return it if I need to. Someone needs to reel in the exorbitant pricing folks. I visited this Wal-Mart for the first time. I didn't know where things were, asked 2, not 1 but 2 employees for help-that was a mistake. Both of the employees I spoke to were rude and unhelpful. I never did find what I was looking for because I refused to ask another employee, just to "possibly" get another rude response, so I left without making a purchase.

PLEASE take into consideration that it is also is 9 am so about an hour ago, it could just be that I found the only 2 non-morning employees but either way, overall not a good experience.
