Our family is still fairly new to the area and we decided to finally give this theater a go. We usually go to AMC but haven't been thrilled with all the recent scares and news stories. I was originally going to purchase our tickets online but was having some issues picking our seats and wanted to avoid the added fees. We stopped by on 9/2 to buy them for the following day which was National Cinema Day and also my birthday. At the time I didn't take advantage of their reward program but then kicked myself. The program is only $10 and with the bargain we got on $3 tickets, I was dumb not to so after a couple hours I joined it online. I was immediately emailed about my free drink and popcorn offer which was very exciting. I also emailed customer service to ask if there was any chance that my movie ticket purchase could still be awarded even though I joined the program after purchase. A lovely women by the name of Jayme replied advising it was no trouble at all and to come over to guest services the next day. It was now Friday and we were at the theater. Best part which i didnt think eould hapoen with sych ahoet notice but I received the email for a $5 bday reward since I joined the program so now I had money towards our concession purchase and I was feeling like I was on top of the world. Super cute place. A lot bigger then I imagined and the seats were a lot more comfortable. There were even art dealers selling their work in the man area. We actually stopped by after the movie and supported one of them. I was thrilled to find Jayme at guest services after the movie to get my receipt and point adding squared away. We are already eager to go back. Thank you guys for being so accomdating....
Read moreDli had a disappointing experience at this theater. Came to see Novocaine on a weekday night. First disappointment: no discounted pricing for seniors. Guess I'm spoiled in my home state of Florida, where nearly every merchant offers seniors a discount (except for the greedy theme parks, of course). By myself, mainly there to kill some time, I ordered a large buttered popcorn and a large root beer. I was told I had to butter my own popcorn at the self-serve station, where the area under the butter spigot was soiled with a puddle of butter, bad enough where I had to hold my popcorn bucket with one hand while trying to dispense the butter with the other hand. Had I placed the bucket down on the counter, the bottom would've been covered with butter. Definitely not cool. After finding a seat, I discovered the popcorn was not the least bit warm, and it was lacking the classic theater movie popcorn taste we all expect when visiting a theater. Heck! Thats why i purchased it! Big disappointment. For the coupe de gras, had someone blindfolded me and asked me to have a sip of my drink, I wouldn't have been able to identify it as root beer. Co sequential, I did not enjoy my $18. order of popcorn and rot beer. After a few handfuls of cold popcorn, I set it aside and threw it away on my way out of the auditorium. Same for the drink. All I can say good about this place is that the reclining seat was comfortable, and the young concessionaire was pleasantly polite and friendly. Lastly, I did enjoy the funny movie, which caused me to laugh aloud in...
Read moreWe purchased 2 tickets to see Wicked at about 2:00 pm. I pointed on the screen where we wanted to sit, which happened to be on the handicap row. We arrived to find NO chairs in one of our numbers so we took the next chair over. As the movie was about to begin an attendant told us we would have to leave because we purchased a handicapped seat, which had to be paid for. I had paid for the tickets earlier in the day. They proceeded to sell the same seats to someone else later in the day. That couple was allowed to stay for the movie. We were asked to leave, not offered another seat. Upon departure, we stopped to speak to the manager. He told us handicapped spaces had to be paid for. He apologized for the mix up but not one time did he offer us different seats so, needless to say, we did not get to see our movie. I told him that we would not be coming back unless they refunded our money and gave us complimentary tickets, which he did. He was very nonchalant about the whole situation. I am most disappointed that we were not offered other seats and did not get to see Wicked. As a manager, he is lacking many customer service skills. I expected to be offered new seats. That was never an option. The movie was NOT sold out. As a matter of fact the theater was less than half full. Buyer beware at the Mooresville AmStar Cinema -- they do not value their customers, nor do they understand customer service. Never did they ask either couple what time their tickets were purchased to see who purchased the seats first. They just told us we...
