Full disclosures need to at least be on the website- that’s good business 101. If the website is under maintenance, or you want to be extra efficient, you can also have employees check with potentially new customers to see if they know the criteria (and/or if you’re stocked up). All of this could’ve been easily avoided had the website or an employee told me any of this. All 3 employees were sweet, but just wish had explained some things. (Missing info in order to reply to owner)
Edit: Reply to the store owner:
I left your store politely; I think being polite even when upset is respectful. As I stated in my original review, I understand your in-person policy completely, but what was relayed to me in person after the fact, VS what’s stated on the website is misleading, respectfully. My expectation was “bring it all here!”- zero warning that the majority of my items would be turned down, despite me asking in advance twice. 🫤
The website did not indicate anywhere that your store only accepts XYZ; it said “all seasons every day”, which (I don’t mean this with a tone) if I bring in winter items in spring, it should normally be accepted. It’s the whole reason I looked at multiple websites before coming in. I would understand your reply more if I hadn’t looked at the website, or called, or triple checked and ask an employee in the store before I brought my boxes in, but I did do all of that, and none of these additional stipulations were told to me. If your website, or if I was told when I called, had said “only accepting in season items” and clarified that “only trending brands are accepted due to customer demand” or along those lines, then this would’ve been a “my bad”. I simply would have looked elsewhere. Also, yes, your employees explained everything well and were nice (as I also said), but I wish instead of telling me all of the stipulations after it was too late, someone, when I had said in the beginning (after I stated twice that I was new), had explained this stuff first. I felt mislead. I’m not saying you or anyone is misleading intentionally, but although I was new, I did do my due diligence, so for you, the owner, to not see how I felt mislead is disappointing. Of course I was hoping everything to be taken, but again… no one explained to me ahead of time that that was unlikely, nor of the changed policy/stipulations.
I hope I’m making sense… I truly don’t think this is unreasonable. I’ve meant all this with a kind and respectful tone, so I hope it comes across that way. I just believe in up front disclosures to avoid confusion. Hopefully you can agree that if I both called, then in person, asked if there was anything I needed to know BEFORE I brought my boxes in, I should have been told right then instead of after I wasted hours of time and money. I’m not fuming here, I never was; if I saw you tomorrow, I would be friendly like I was with your employees, but I just don’t think this was handled professionally. And I feel like, although I’ve stated everything I did first, you’re blaming this on “I was new”. Yes, but I also 1. looked at your website, 2. called, and 3. asked in person what I needed to know, and was told “nothing, bring it all in”. Not sure what else I could’ve done,...
Read moreMy experience with selling was confusing. My Mother-in-Law and I took about 20 clothing items, maybe 10 pairs of shoes, several handbags and a large number of jewelry pieces. When they had gone through our items and told us what they chose to keep, we were stunned. All of the really nice (some new with tags still on), brand name, modern and classic items were passed over. The few items that were kept were definitely not the items we expected them to take and the nicer items (all of which were either year-round or spring/summer) were passed over. At first we thought we misunderstood which totes they were keeping vs the ones they were passing on. Out of all the items we brought in, they kept only three items of clothing (1 dress and one 2pc skirt & top). They kept 4 pair of shoes, 1 handbag, 1 wallet/crossbody (which had some scuffing on it) and one bracelet set. I was under the impression that this store was targeting casual and career woman but based on this experience, that doesn’t seem to fit. Many of the clothing items we brought were worn by an attorney in a courtroom and an executive assistant to the CEO of one of the largest utility companies in the Southeast US. All were in like-new or brand new condition. We left the store and took the items to the Goodwill down the road. Their...
Read moreI usually don't write google reviews, but my experience at this store was so horrible that I need to say something. Came in to get my daughter a birthday gift and the associates were very loudly discussing inappropriate things that I'd rather not repeat in this review. I asked one of the ladies, who was dressed very sloppily for a store this nice, for help picking out something for my daughter, and after assisting me she walked back to her coworker and I could hear the two of them giggling whilst discussing how my hair looked. Overall an unpleasant experience and I will not be shopping here again.
Update: I see you have given me an email to reach out to, but I don't think that will be necessary. It seems like you're insinuating that I am lying about what I experienced and I feel any attempt at a private mediation would result in the same insinuations. I am 100% positive it was the Style Encore in Mooresville, near the Walmart. One of the young ladies had brown hair and spent the entirety of the transaction moving her sleeve to and from her mouth, very noticeably using some kind of vaporizer. To any potential customers, please do not waste your time here. The employees do not care to give you their attention, will try to discretely berate you, and you will definitely leave here feeling...
