Wonderful place to eat and relax. The dining areas are beautifully decorated with wonderful down home memorabilia from the owners grand mother. The food is freshly prepared daily and the flavor will knock your socks off. They serve a full buffet in the mornings and huge lunch and dinner plates. I would recommend getting " G Maws Chichen". This meal comes with 2-4 large peices of chicken a soup and side of your choosing. Im partial to either the sausage/chicken gumbo soup and redbeans & rice. Everything is great here and you can't go wrong no matter what you order. Also for those "real" gumbo lovers. They have a wonderful full order of seafood gumbo thats loaded down with chicken, sausage, shrimp and crawfish. Mmmm boy!!!! In the picture above I'm having the G Maws with potatoe salad and my husband is having the Gumbo with a side of redbeans& rice. Oh and lastly don't forget to try those rolls. Fluffy deliciousness I call them hahaha....! If we didn't live on Houston we'd eat here every...
Read moreI give them a 2, because, the Boudan eggrolls were amazing. Everything else was subpar, we had the $30 seafood platter, and it wasn't what one would expect from a restaurant in Morgan City LA, it was what you'd expect from a fast food chain. The pasta was sticky and not tasty, the Poboy was OK! Maybe this isn't a restaurant that makes seafood a priority but just sells it because of their location so close to the sea. Spent $170 bucks and tipped them $20 on a carry out, the pickup was scheduled for 7pm, but when we got there items were unavailable, had to be substituted, and we had to wait another 30 minutes for 3 slices of gross warm cheesecake and those 2 orders of amazing eggrolls.. Our other food was cold. If you want good decent tasty seafood, don't stop here....
Read moreThe seafood buffet consists of an assortment of frozen food, served cold, akin to what you would find at a Golden Corral.
I went in at about 7 PM thinking that would be the sweet spot, but apparently they stock the buffet at 5 and then never touch it again. Everything was cold and hard, nothing was touched while I was there (about 30 minutes) and it was an all around bad meal. The restaurant was empty at 7 PM on a Friday night and I should have read the signs and left.
It's $28 for the buffet + $3 for a drink and if I'm being completely honest I'm not sure I would pay $5 to eat here again.
My only positive was my server was very friendly...
