We had dinner at Noah's for first time with friends. The waitstaff was very attentive. However, the following are my observations regarding the full experience. AMBIENCE: the bar has at least one tv. Also there's a "lounge" in the same room. That makes it a sport bar/lounge (???). We sat at the back room, which was bright, very bright which suggests it's also a family style restaurant. WINE LIST: pretty good selection, including local wines. Reasonable prices. The server came to the table holding glasses like they're full and asked who's trying it first. When the ok was given he filled glass of taster first. FOOD:Started with a salad to start. The salad came first and was big enough to share between four of us. Then ordered Chicken Parmesan, Artichoke Pasta, New York steak and Rib-eye steak for diner. Minutes later they notified us no Rib-eye was available. No problem, we ordered something else. The Artichoke pasta was ok, as well as the chicken Parmesan which suggested us it was chicken cutlet, but was half chicken with bones and melted cheese on top. Also was "almost ok". The New York steak was ordered medium rare and was cooked to perfection. The salad ordered first was perfect for the steak, so we're enjoying it like that, but a waitress came and asked us if we want a container for the salad... which we were still eating... then, 5 minutes later comes again and asked us if we wanted another glass of wine, not noticing we had a bottle at our table...
OVERALL: A restaurant with multiple identities, Sports bar/ lounge/family style restaurant, with a nice wine menu, a dinner menu that could be improved (both in BOH and in the menu itself, an attentive staff that could make the experience even better if trained for it.
I'm pretty sure I'm missing something in my notes. I really wanted to give our waiter a few tips from my long experience in the industry but don't wanted to make him feel I was putting him in the spot.
I wish you the best and I might visit you when back to...
Read moreWho on earth is rating this above a star? The only reasonable part of this experience was our server. He was polite and attentive. The rest of this experience was a horror show. The Chicken Bits appetizer was literal saw dust fried probably a week ago and then reheated. California is having a water issue and I am now forced to drink every last drop of what’s left to try and salvage some moisture into my body. The beet salad.. I could see the marks from the can on the beets. In a farming community using canned veggies at a restaurant probably should get you excommunicated. Lastly the salmon pasta was at least warm. That’s about all it had going for it. When you use an entire olive tree worth of oil but some how manage to not actually have any flavor that’s truly something. Morgan Hill doesn’t have many good options but damn near every other option including Taco Bell might be a...
Read moreWe got a few dishes/drinks. Their local beer/wine options are limited but they have lots of non local options. Food wise. The pasta dishes with seafood were very rich and flavorful. The portion are very generous and the fish tasted fresh. Especially the rich creamy pesto pasta with salmon was superb. The California chicken sandwich was pretty good, nothing crazy special though. But the soup of the day (chicken corn chowder) was tasty and perfect for a cold night. Their service was ok. They were pretty busy so it’s understandable. Only real complaint: their heaters are not at all enough and not placed appropriately. We were pretty cold the whole time. Perhaps best if they got some portable smaller heaters like the restaurant next door. Other than that it’s a great spot with decent prices and a wide range of flavors/options! Also great kid...
