So many drinks to choose from! It's super cool that they allow you to bring in outside food which encourages trying out the local spots. They have a great selection of beer and are in a sweet atmosphere with perfect outdoor seating and games like foosball and chess and just a pretty darn nice place. Though I got to say, socially speaking it is one of the most uncomfortable experiences I've had in the last few years..every time. Years ago when they first opened this was not the case. But it just seems like the staff is a bit I don't know arrogant rude and just unfriendly. I mean I only went there about 11 times when we were visiting Morgan Hill and I did keep going hoping it would be a different experience but unfortunately it never was and I talked to friends and family about it and they had also noticed the same thing and said they "don't go there very often". Everybody's happy to have a nice local pub but it is kind of a bummer, there's just a super unfriendly air about the place. Maybe we just kept going at the wrong time but we did interact with a fair amount of different people behind the bar etc. Good friends n fam who lived in Morgan Hill forever are like "yeah man I don't go there when the dog people are around they're just straight up uncool humans. Which is weird because dog people are usually pretty chill. So I guess even the clientele can be a little bit I don't know "unfriendly, know-it-all, rude." Maybe that's just becoming Morgan Hill. I sure hope not, But I do know that they've lost about 80 to 90% of whole age groups etc due to the high cost of housing for soo long..So maybe that is the way it is. Perhaps folks are just either resentful or elitist with not much middle and I sure can't blame em given the circumstances. But yeah, I really do hope that's not the case and that this is just a fluke and that when we come back to Morgan Hill it'll have changed for the better. Not a good...
Read moreThis place is super cool. As a runner, its totally cool to have great hoppi beer after a long hard run, or bike ride. There were lots of options to choose from, the staff was friendly and there was plenty of seating. Next door, the shop has a lot of stuff you could by for running, which i will check out more in depth when i have some time to shop for running stuff. But what makes me want to give them 5 stars is their customer service and i will tell you why.
Yesterday i went in with a group of 4, and we had some awesome beers. As i was heading out the door, i wanted a soda for the road and paid for it with a $50. I received my change, but it was not until i was at a concert that same night, that i realized i did not get the correct change. Its an easy mistake. You hand a $50, and you think its a $20, and give the wrong change. Had i been smart, i would have counted my change but i was in a hurry out the door and didn't think twice.
Anyway, i called them this morning, and they did come up $30 over and contacted me to tell me they owed me money. They could have easily not, but thats top notch customer service.
This place is awesome for catching what is more my mistake than theirs, and owning up to the error.
They have won a customer and i will be coming back - maybe with a bike group when the...
Read moreBest thing about Running Shop is their beer selection - both on tap and to take home. The thing that makes them unique is they allow you to mix cans rather than having to take a four pack of the same beer. Craft beer is so expensive already, buying four cans of something you’re not sure you’ll like? Not here!
While there is seating indoors and out, this place gets HOPPING in the evenings and on weekends! The line to order a beer can get long but the bartenders work fast. They also have between fifty and eighty six beers on tap, depending on inventory - beers of all styles I might add. You can always see their current menu on the app Untappd.
They have two gender neutral, single person bathrooms that I have yet to see less than clean. They have some swag if you decide you want to give them some free advertising. Kids and pets are welcome and there is usually a food truck available during dinnertime hours.
Parking can be tough during peak hours as they don’t have a dedicated parking lot, but it’s worth the short walk...
