Sonofabrisket but this is the best barbeque around ever. Now I've had barbecue from all around the place from Texas, yea I know them heatherns pick a cow over a pig but that's in bred in them, Alabama good bbq but that god forsaken mayonnaise sause would make a pig squeal it's so bad. But Dreamland down there has a gret idea with no napkins but give you light bread to sop your face with. South Carolina ND Tennessee is pretty good que and I like the mustard base sauce. Shelby NC I've tried 6 or 7 and about all thems good. High Point and Lexington NC was right up there a favorites. And ol Burke County had nothing to hang their head about. BUT now Boulevard BBQ. Off the charts . The best. Mammy slapping good, sorry mom but she agrees. I've had the pork beef, sausages and turkey so far. Ain't been disappointed nary a time . It so so good you say a blessing before and after the meal. And if you eat in you are blessed to have a beer too. I stilyet gotta try the chicken or ribs but it would have to be good. My owner /boss Carl is an afishinado over bbq too and he taved about the turkey what I gave him a slice of. The hush puppies, the red slaw ,the okrey, the beans and the nanner puddin was momma good. You'll get a heaping portion there and will tell your friends to git over there immediately if not sooner. The meat is moist and yes I mean the turkey and the brisket. I've had them both 4 times. First time I went I was fortunate enough to talk to the cooker of meats and he's just a pleasant a feller you'd ever come across. We talked on his sausage making and yes he makes his own and it is good and I mean good. He elaborated on his turkey and brisket and I was enlightened and made smarter that day. A great feller and the whole staff was as good as mountain spring water on a August afternoon splitting wood with a ax. They orta have a swear jar out front so's when you're leaving you can swear it's the best bbq you've ever had. No possums guaranteed by that feller too. If you coming out the front door of Broughton turn left at light then left at next light then shoot straight on thru next light and go halfway up the hill and turn left and park over there. If you're coming by Aldi's and Breedens poultry and egg, now Case Farms, go to the light and turn left then halfways up the hill and go 167 or 8 feet and park. Now if you're coming around the bypass past Roses go thru the light and at the next light turn right , go halfways up the the hill turn left and...
Read moreWe have been several times over the years. Last night was Terrible! First of all we are a group of 5 older women. Walking on the Totally greasy dirty floor was a challenge. It was like that from the door to the table. We are usually sat at 2 4 top tables pulled together. Last night we were sat at a large folding table. Waited while they pulled apart the dirty stacked chairs for us to use. Apparently these tables near the window aren't used often. There was a ton of old food and trash on floor. I think there were 3 other tables, so no they weren't busy. 3 of us got sweet tea 2 ordered drinks from the bar. After waiting for ever for the bar drinks. I figured they were just waiting out there for pickup. Our waitress was too young to serve them. Very nice bar tender was confused at first, she had never been given the order. Not one of us was pleased with our food. The brisket we had was cut very thick and just as dry and tough as could be. Ribs dried out on the bone. My hush puppies were pretty good! When we were carefully heading towards the door. A woman was speaking to a man who had come out from the back. As we walked by she was complaining about the slick floors. I heard him tell her he had put down some extra rugs to help. I said as we walked by, some degreaser is what you need. The woman came up to us in the parking lot and said, he had told her it was moisture making them slick. She held up a napkin she had run across the floor. She said I showed him that was grease not water. He just walked away. I don't think we will ever be back. I can't believe how much it has...
Read moreHonestly, the food here was an absolute 5 but the service was more like a 2…
I was with a group of 7 so a larger party but not huge. Our waitress was friendly but everything was extremely slow! It seemed like forever between ordering drinks and when we actually received them and it WAS forever before the food came out. Some in the group ordered a second mixed drink and they came out tasting totally different than the first round of the same drink.
Several times it felt like our waitress forgot to check on things until ages later. One in our group ordered banana pudding with her meal, it never came. When the waitress came to check and make sure she had everyone’s order correct for checks, they asked about the naner pudding, initially the waitress seemed confused but then said she’d check on it because they often run out (if every server in the restaurant is wearing a shirt about your naner pudding, I feel like you should make sure you don’t run out). She came back with checks and didn’t mention the banana pudding, someone asked if she checked on it and she mumbled that they were out.
Another member of our group ran into a difference waitress in the restroom and asked her about the banana pudding and was told they DID in fact still have some… unfortunate that it seems we were lied to over something as simple as banana pudding.
Overall, service was not great but they did seem short handed. Our food was excellent and we had a great time anyway since we were talking and visiting with one another. I’d give it another try.
