My friend and I recently visited Habaneros Mexican Restaurant after a long day at work, eager to indulge in some delicious tacos. However, our excitement quickly turned into disappointment from the moment we stepped in.
Upon arrival, we were informed by the waiter that the beef they were serving had been sitting for over six weeks. This raised immediate concerns about the freshness and quality of the ingredients. We had encountered a similar issue during a previous visit, where the meat appeared under-cooked. Despite expressing our concerns to the owner, we were met with excuses rather than a genuine effort to rectify the situation.
To our dismay, the owner seemed preoccupied with attending to other guests and failed to address our concerns adequately. It was evident that the restaurant was struggling to maintain its standards of food quality and customer service. We were left feeling neglected and disregarded as paying customers.
In light of these circumstances, we made the decision to leave without placing an order. However, our departure was met with unnecessary hostility from the staff, who followed us out and began yelling and threatening to involve the police.
Overall, our experience at Habaneros Mexican Restaurant was nothing short of disappointing. The lack of attention to food quality and customer satisfaction is concerning, and the hostile behavior exhibited by the staff was unacceptable. As much as we hoped for a pleasant dining experience, we were left feeling utterly disillusioned. We cannot recommend this restaurant to others until significant...
Read moreI recently visited and was eager to try their highly recommended authentic tacos. Here's a breakdown of my dining experience.
The Good:
Presentation: The food was beautifully presented. Each dish was arranged with care, making the meal visually appealing. Service: The service was good. The staff were friendly, attentive, and our order arrived quickly. Rice and Beans: Both were delicious. The rice was fluffy and flavorful, while the beans had a nice, hearty texture.
The Not So Good:
Authentic Tacos: We ordered the Asada, Carnitas, and Alambre tacos. Unfortunately, they all tasted quite similar, lacking the distinct flavors we were expecting. Ingredient Balance: Each taco was overly packed with cilantro and chopped onion, which overshadowed the meat. This imbalance made it difficult to appreciate the primary ingredients. Corn Tortillas: The corn tortillas tasted store-bought and slightly out of date, leaving a mild, weird aftertaste. This detracted from the overall taco experience. Horchata: The horchata was disappointing. It had a chalky texture and lacked flavor, suggesting it was made from powder rather than from scratch. In the end, we deconstructed the tacos, discarded the tortillas, and tried to salvage the meat. While there were some highlights, the overall experience left much to be desired.
Overall, they showed promise with the excellent service and side dishes, but the main attraction—the tacos—fell flat. With some adjustments to ingredient balance and freshness, this spot could...
Read moreHabaneros has gone downhill as of late. With so many Mexican restaurants opening up they are having a hard time competing. I can remember having to wait for a table or booth. Now, even on a Friday or Saturday night, they’re half empty. The empty seats say a lot. Their portions have definitely shrunk. I always order the burrito lorado with pork. They now use a small burrito wrap for it. And the freshness? The last few times we went the onions were kinda flat in the special topping which there is very little of. Also, the quality of pork, the last 2 out of 3 times it was more fatty than meat. Every once in a while I ordered the cheese steak burrito. It used to be my favorite, but the steak is tough and barely warm, the onions were not done and hardly any cheese sauce. We used to love their frozen margaritas, but they seemed to be weak alcohol content wise so we just stopped ordering them. The straw the broke the camel’s back was last time we went amongst the other shortcomings the refried beans we were served were soupy and barely lukewarm. We kept going because we wanted to keep giving them a try and we wanted to give them the business since they’re always so slow now. The one standout is their service. Always quick, but that’s now not enough. I wish I could provide them with a better review. But, judge by the parking lot - drive past some of the other Mexican restaurants then drive by Hananeros. Full parking lots vs....
