While traveling through the town of Morganton, we stayed at the historic area & thought we try this pizza place, before we left the hotel I googled the establishment which says they’re open till 9 pm. I also called just incase, it went to voicemail & sure enough the VM says they are open till 9pm. So we drove down & got to the building approximately 8:20pm & as I was walking by the glass window noticed they were cleaning, I asked the guy through the window “are you still open?” He said; No! I responded; “your website & VM says your open till 9pm” He looked puzzled, so I looked at my phone to view the website. Another person taps on the glass window to get my attention, & slowly utters the words (as if i didn’t speak English) “weeeee aaaaare cloooooose!” & looks at me as if I should go away. What an awe full experience! To think you are going to a quaint little town & they couldn’t even recommend a place or be polite... I called them & the person who answered the phone said their modified schedule has been in place since April. “It’s October,” you would think they’d find time to update their website & voicemail! It was late, we just went through a long journey to get to the town, we were all so exhausted & hungry. People who go out of their home to travel, eat out, & buy souvenirs are the ones helping the small towns, small businesses & the economy. You shouldn’t be...
Read moreI enjoy this restaurant and try to eat at it when I'm in the area. The food is freshly made to order and it's tasty. There is a choice of dining in, carrying out, or eating in their outdoor dining area. It's a no frills pizza joint, but it lacks nothing in flavor and their prices are reasonable.
Parking is available across the street, but the restaurant may not be obvious to those unfamiliar with the area. There is a visible sign located outside the restaurant, but the restaurant itself is located inside a building with other businesses.
On the day I visited the restaurant with my guest, the staff was very busy. There is no wait staff. You order at a counter then have a seat and wait for your food. Ours was delivered on styrofoam plates and we had to get up and ask for utensils and napkins. We prepared our own drinks from a fountain drink machine. The tea that this restaurant serves is delicious.
I never saw the staff wipe tables down between guests, so if that level of cleanliness is important to you during this Covid pandemic, then you may want to give extra consideration carry-out.
If you're taste buds are up for fresh pizza, or maybe a calzone, then I highly recommend...
Read moreTERRIBLE SERVICE! Was ABRUPTLY put on hold immediately when the daughter of the owners answered the phone. "HOLD PLEASE" After 19 minutes, I was still on hold. I walked to the restaurant with my phone STILL ON HOLD. I spoke with the 'so called' manager who said "Well we're busy" So you put someone on hold for 19 minutes. They were completely ignoring the phone light blinking, and I noticed that both lines were blinking. Previous employees who have worked there would handle orders as they arrive whether through the phone or in person. This 'so called' manager was completely ignoring the phone and taking everyone in person first. In Fact, when it was my turn, now in person, she had the NERVE to ask the other patrons if I arrived before they did. I had been standing in line, and in fact asked others if they had placed their orders. They said "Yes, we are just waiting." This young lady should NOT be in the food service business, unless she is completely behind the scenes and does not deal with customers. DEFINITELY Not management material. When I asked who owned the franchise, she said "my parents". Let's see if Mom and Dad take their business and customer service...
