Escobar's — Restaurant in Morgantown

The interior design is beautiful, and up-to-date. It also gives off a very classy and high end impression. Out waitress was very attentive and hardworking. The duck we ordered was excellent. We also ordered a pizza with adult beverages, and were very pleased with the taste of the foods and quality of alcoholic beverages. The only thing they lack at the time of my review (Dec 2023) was a desert menu. Apparently, At this time they do not have the equipment in the kitchen to make and or maintain desserts. As such, i subtracted one star. Though, considering how well the food was made, I am optimistic that, Should they include a dessert menu in the future, it will also Meet or exceed the quality of the rest of their menu. Would I visit this place again? Absolutely. If I can return in the future, and they have dessert, I will revise my review, with the great possibility of giving them five full stars. My only opinion is that this place could section off an area for guests to smoke cigars, as from my experience the interior design of this establishment offers great potential and is extremely comfortable to lounge in.

First impression of this place is very nice when you step inside. It has a nice atmosphere and I wondered why it was dead on a Friday night. My fiancé had the Salmon which she said tasted good, but the food was only luke warm. I ordered the beef filet medium rare. It came out more on the under side of rare for the most part but I had eaten a few bites of it. The waitress came around after a few minutes and could tell it wasn’t right so she offered to make it right. They took my partially eaten steak and cooked it some more. Then re-plated it. It was better the second time and I finished it, but I wouldn’t order it again. I saw these charred crispy looking pizzas go out a few times while I was there so I ordered a pepperoni to try. It was somehow both charred and completely soggy at the same time. Not a single part of that pizza was crispy. Probably the worst I’ve had in a long time. has gone downhill. Ordered a negroni and it was straight vermouth. Asked for an aguardiente sour and it was all lemon juice. No egg white. Posted a picture of the drink menu because the ingredients in the negroni are exactly the same as the ingredients in the sazerac. The exact same ingredients but different drinks and one costs more 😂 got the crab fondue and it cane put cold with the candle not lit. I asked the bartender to relight it… she told me they dont have a lighter. I ordered the pepperoni pizza, it cane out with 2 pieces of pepperoni. Ordered another pizza and it never came. The pizza did infect taste like dish soap. Staff were very rude and not helpful at all. Bathroom had no toilet paper. Restaurant was freezing cold. Absolutely will never return.
