XSCAPE Live Escape Room Morgantown — Attraction in Morgantown

XSCAPE offered a lot of fun in solving their Escape Room! I felt that a few of the puzzles we're a little out of sync with the rest of the room, as they didn't make sense or weren't effective enough at showing that the clue was in another room. I had expected to be searched for phones or other electronics, but there are no rules against this apparently, aside from being frowned upon. However, the clues were so specific to the room that the use of cellphones wouldn't even be helpful. We weren't even trapped in the rooms, we could get out and use the restroom if needed. The prices weren't bad, $30 per person and you get a full hour to solve the puzzle with 4 clues from the game programmer. Our Escape Room was set in a music studio where the owners had been taken and we had to get out. We solved a series of puzzles, codes, locks, and clues to find out way out. Overall, it was a good time and I'd definitely do it again! I would give 5 stars if the game was slightly more polished and felt like a highly-developed and professional game. Having done over 20 rooms now, I have seen a lot of unique and great rooms. However, the Estate at Xscape Morgantown is absolutely mind blowing. Beginning with the lobby, the place is clean and sharp! The decor is amazing, and fresh. I selected this room since it was considered a gen 2 room. I was absolutely enthralled at how well done the room was. It was completely immersive and challenging. We were at a little disadvantage as there were only 3 of us, one of which had some physical limitations due to an injury. The clues were expertly crafted, including some actual video clues! The amount of tech in this room was outstanding, and everything worked flawlessly! I could have stayed in this room for several hours just experiencing every puzzle individually. There is definitely a LOT of puzzles, which keeps every participant occupied, instead of playing follow along as one or two people solve puzzles. Absolutely LOVED our experience here, highly recommend! We originally planned to do 2 of the rooms and ended up adding another after having so much fun in the first two. We had a group of 4 (with prior escape room experience) and were able to successfully escape all 3 rooms. The puzzles and rooms here are really unique, we had so many that we'd never seen before! Of the 3 our favorite room was Tut, with Taken being our 2nd favorite. Everything was such high quality and the high tech puzzles are absolutely incredible!! We also appreciated that there was enough going on in the rooms that everyone could be working on something, we didn't have everyone standing around staring at one puzzle. The staff were super friendly and the game masters gave excellent clues that let us still feel like we were solving the puzzle (rather than just being given an answer). Between our group we've done over 20 escape rooms in several states and all agree that Tut is the best room any of us have ever done.
