Mountain Mama's Tavern & Sports Bar — Restaurant in Morgantown

I was passing through Morgantown, WV on my way back to Ohio. I was getting hungry & wanted something to eat. I decided on Mountain Mama, which wasn’t to hard to find. It is definitely a restaurant / bar that appears to be super popular. The outside dining area was packed for a Saturday night. Inside was pretty empty with the exception of the bar area. Our host greeted us with a warm simple and seated us quickly at a table. The seating options were table, hi top table, bar or outside. Our server came over and welcomed us. He took our drink orders & gave us menus. I did again notice how busy this place was, the bar area was full of patrons & a line had formed for the carry out orders. Our server returned with our drinks & took our food order, he thank us for our patience as they were busy tonight & they had a few people call off. Our meals were out in what I felt was an acceptable time. I had a large garden salad & chicken strips with fries. Both of my meal selections were just awesome! The chicken strips were crunchy & juicy, the fries were hot & Crisp. The salad was huge with the correct amount of salad dressing. To be honest the serving staff is what I was absolutely impressed with. They were short, but man did they hustle! They were so amazingly friendly and polite even though they so busy. Tony and I visited Mountain Mama Bar & Grill in Morgantown WV on Friday October 7th. We were one of the early arrivals. Only the waitress & cook and a few other diners. Tony ordered a Budweiser Draft and I got a Half-Half Tea with lemon & lime.

I decided to order the Philly cheesesteak with fries to share with Tony. The sandwich was good but not Great! The fries were overly deep fried, not really great! The silverware was horrible. I asked waitress for clean silverware she said sure but it's residue from the chemicals in the dishwasher...I heard..."we are to busy to dry silverware properly so the chemical residue stays on the silverware"....keyword "Chemicals".... She acted like no big deal it happens all the time...lightbulb in my mind "We don't care about our customers so we give them chemical residue covered silverware on a regular basis!!!!" I am not interested in this...

We stopped here for a late lunch and couldn’t have had a more awesome experience. Although they were busy the bartender took care of us outside (because we had a dog with us) and despite our among care of the bar, prepping plates, and running back and forth we were taken care of like we were the only people there. The food was beyond delicious. I got the Jim Bean Sriracha Wings (perfect amount of heat and super tangy) and my friend got a burger with a fried onion ring and bacon (I can’t remember the name of it) and a couple local craft beers. We shared everything! My pup, Jaybyrd enjoyed a few fries and a big bowl of ice water the bartender brought out. I could only give 5 stars int this review but would have gladly given more.
