This is the best sushi place in all of the land. The moment I walked into this fine establishment, I was treated like royalty! Between the homemade soy sauce and the kind woman who was helping us I knew it was deserving of 5 stars. Our variety of specialty rolls, sashimi, and homade udon noodles were a melody for the senses.

Despite the cozy size of Asahi, tables were filled with clientele from all walks of life. At the table to the left of us a man asked his date to be official, and she immediately diverted the conversation elsewhere. The table that was behind us sat an authentic vampire and his meal/date.

My date and I decided to get a subset of the entire menu. The woman that worked there jokingly but warmly patted my shoulder and said I was a hungry boy, which we got a chuckle out of. She also referenced me by first name which made the place feel like home. Two additional stars were added at this moment making the total rating 7 stars.

Our food came out and the display was like a picaso painting. Each roll was vibrant in color and bursting with flavor. The fish was so fresh it was as if there was an ocean behind the resteraunt. We asked the woman how to eat all of the food and like a navy seal she tactically coached us for success. The quality of the food was superb. Even after being completely full neither one of us could stop eating. The variety of flavors and textures in the roll had us hooked from the very first bite. We strived with the finish line in sight, and were able to finish all of the sushi we ordered. This gives the establishment an additional two stars bumping the total up to 9.

Just when we thought the experience couldn't get any better Morristown Memorial's very own ER nurse, Sarah Nelson, made an appearance. The owner addressed her by name as she picked up her food. We had the pleasure of sitting with Sarah for desert and discussion. We ordered two Mochi for dessert and the woman didn't let Sarah leave without a taste, including a third in our order. Additional star bumping it up to 10.

As we sipped on the remaining wine, Phil Collins serenaded us. The Playlist was strategically created with Italian opera and 80s hits. When we signed the check the woman gave us homecrafted stickers. One saying "Red Hot" and the other saying "Cute Stuff". This finishing touch added Asahi its 11th star.

The entire dining experience at Asahi was like dining in heaven. I will continue to frequent this place due to the amazing food, and welcoming hospitality. I am known to be a tough critic when it comes food, but like the Grinch my heart grew in three sizes that night. Writing this review left me in tears over the masterpiece that was...

I came here for the first time last night and I had a good experience! The place is small and cozy, right off of Morris Street in Morristown. There's street parking and a metered parking lot a block behind the restaurant. There's also a shopping center parking lot right across the restaurant but people aren't supposed to park there if they're not customers of the center, so proceed with caution (we parked there 😁).

Asahi has a varied menu, offering sushi rolls, rice/poke bowls, ramen, and sushi box combinations. I think that coming for lunch is the best deal because they offer combinations at a decent price. During dinner, prices are much higher. Because of this, I only ordered two regular rolls (Alaska Roll and spicy shrimp roll - $6.99 each) and a miso soup ($2.99). The fish is okay quality and the rolls still tasted good. I didn't think the soup cost $3 though! A little overpriced. They also offer dessert. They have tempura ice cream, mochi ice cream, just regular ice cream. Tempura ice cream was pretty good! We had the green tea tempura ice cream. I wouldn't recommend the mochi ice cream; even though I love it, you can buy it in the supermarket for much less.

I have to give this place a lot of credit for their customer service though! Super nice owners who were very attentive to us. Because we had a group of 6, they charged gratuity automatically. They take mastercard and visa and can take multiple cards for one check but couldn't...

the owners of this place are always so welcoming whenever you walk in. service is amazing here along with the food. we primarily order rolls and sushi pieces here, but the hot food is just as good. we almost always order the following:

bruno roll beauty and beast roll tropicana roll sarah roll sushi pieces (salmon belly, yellowtail belly, sweet shrimp, scallop, squid, eel, mackerel, bluefin tuna)

their fish is fresh and roll combinations are expansive. they even have sushi fish specials that many other local sushi places do not have (see above). we used to live closer to nyc and have been to many highly rated omakase places, and this place is not inferior in the freshness of their fish. if you’re looking for a go to local sushi place, this is the place to go. to summarize, sushi is fresh and there are many roll options from simple to special rolls, hot food is good as well, and lastly service with a smile is underrated. the space is small so definitely make reservations if you plan to have dinner on the weekend. lastly, they make their own soy sauce and it tastes delicious with sushi. this is a staple restaurant for us whenever we’re...

We travel regularly. We have eaten here 3 times in 5 days. (You read that right) We stumbled upon this place via google and it has been fantastic. It is BYOB but there are 2 stores within a 3 minute walk where you can buy sake, beer, wine and liquor. In 15 years of traveling, eating sushi and trying different spots, this is the best, freshest sushi we have ever had on the road. To top it off, Yvonne(front of the house) and her husband(chef) were some of the most gracious, hospitable, and friendly people you might ever meet while dining out. Needless to say, highly recommend. Yvonne, we will see you next time we are in town! ***(FYI, THEY HAVE POSTED A SIGN THEY WILL BE CLOSED AUG 29-SEP 5,2022 FOR VACATION) Also, Yvonne informed me that they are not affiliated with the Asahi 15 minutes north of here.

This is me and my wife’s new favorite place. The owner ivon is so friendly and makes sure you have a nice experience. I’m not a big sushi eater and this is the ONLY place I really love because their sushi is so fresh and the people that work there are so nice. They are so accommodating and even made me my own rolls with fried chicken that was AMAZING since I don’t eat fish. My wife loves their iced teas. Their iced teas are like nothing like you have had anywhere else. You won’t be disappointed if you try it. The salmon sushi is so fresh and melts in your mouth. I don’t usually write reviews but this place is by far the best sushi place around. It’s a hidden gem and we will continue going back each week.

Some friends will say I am picky when it comes to sushi. There are only less than a handful of sushi places that are on my top list. This one has made it. Amazing, I enjoyed the food so much that I had no time for more pics. A must try too is the flower tea.. great to end the meal with. Ordered the avocado bomb , flower roll and the AMAZING roll with no rice, fresh fish and banana (aka monkey roll) Another reason I ever write a recommendation is service.... I was impressed...this is top notch , the ladies are true top hospitality hosts, very warm and friendly everytime they welcome or serve a table its with a genuine smile. I cannot wait to come back.
