Long Story Short: This Chipotle is absolute trash.
My friend and I came to the Chipotle in Mooresville, NC around 9:45–10 PM, and the experience was genuinely one of the worst I’ve had at any food establishment. And no — it wasn’t just because they were out of half their drinks or that the lemonade tasted like tap water with attitude. It was busy. We get it. But the service? Unforgivable.
Samantha (I believe that was her name — glasses, super sweet) was the only redeeming part of the visit. Everyone else? Especially the tall guy with the shaggy hair? Miserable. Passive-aggressive. Condescending. Just straight up rude. He snapped at my friend over the soft taco shells being out, and then when it was my turn, he acted like I asked for his entire paycheck when I politely asked for a decent portion size. Like… Chipotle hasn’t already been dragged all over TikTok for this exact behavior?
Then came the guac situation. I signed up for the rewards program specifically to use the free guac reward for the first time. When I asked about it, Shaggy Guy hits me with, “We don’t have guac,” blinks twice, and just… stares. That’s it. No apology. No tone adjustment. Just pure “why are you wasting my time?” energy. Sir, I asked about guac, not your childhood trauma.
At that point, I was over it. Didn’t even finish customizing my bowl. Asked for chips, got charged for them, but no chips ever came. My friend got a bag with literally three chips — enough to offend someone. We get back to the car and realize the food’s cold. Not room temp — cold. Tried the rice? Stale and dry, like it had been sitting out all day.
As someone who’s been in the customer service industry since I was 16, and a server for almost three years now, I would never treat a guest like that — especially not one who did nothing wrong. We all have bad days, but I don’t take mine out on customers. Because if I did, I’d be written up or out of a job. Period.
I went back inside to request a refund, and shoutout again to Samantha for handling it kindly. But of course, the same rude dude felt the need to announce my refund loudly to the entire staff, with attitude, in front of a full line — like I was inconveniencing him for asking to not be scammed. At that point, I was just trying to get out of there without cussing somebody out.
I don’t know if a Karen came through earlier and ruined his night, or if rent’s due and the tips weren’t tipping, but I’m not the one to take it out on. I came to get food — just like he came to earn his $10/hour + 5% tips. And frankly? That’s not my fault. Take that energy to the time clock, not the people feeding your paycheck.
We will not be coming back. I’ll be taking my business to Moe’s — which, let’s be honest, I should’ve just done in the first place.
Do better. And someone seriously check this man’s customer service skills — or just get him off the...
Read moreMy family and I stopped by this Chipotle just before the lunch rush—only one person was in line ahead of us. Right as we walked in, we saw a cook tossing a basket of tortilla chips into the trash. Problem was, he missed. Most of the chips ended up on the floor, and no one seemed in a hurry to clean it up. A few minutes later, the staff realized the deep fryer wasn’t heating up. Turns out the burner had gone out, which explained the chip dump. Not exactly a smooth operation.
My wife and daughter ordered salads, I got a chicken bowl. When we asked for salad dressing, the guy behind the counter gave us a blank stare and said, “I don’t know if we have any.” He yelled to someone in the back—looked like the manager or maybe the owner—and she gave the same answer, but said she’d check.
Then it got worse. She walked into the back through what looked like the aftermath of someone dumping a 55-gallon mop bucket all over the kitchen floor—I’m talking standing water, not just a puddle. A few minutes later, she reappeared with a hotel pan full of dressing and handed it off like nothing was out of the ordinary.
We moved down to pay and got hit with the usual point-of-sale tipping prompt—you know, where you know youre about to deliver and bus your own food and fill your own drinks, being nudged to add a tip just for ordering food. We still tipped (because that’s how it’s set up), grabbed our drink cups, and went to the soda machine. No ice. We flagged someone down and asked if they could help—maybe fill our cups in the back? Nope. Turns out there’s only one ice machine in the whole restaurant, and it was the empty one we were standing at. No alternative offered. On a schedule, we drank iceless soda and ate.
The food? It was fine—Chipotle is usually consistent in that regard.
Before leaving, we decided to use the restroom. That’s when I walked into this (see photo). And let me be clear: this mess was there when I walked in. I didn’t create it, but I sure wish I hadn’t seen it. It’s 11am. They’ve been open maybe an hour, and the men’s room already looks like this? Dirty seat, gross splatter, floor grime—it was nasty.
Honestly, between the standing water in the kitchen, trashed chips on the floor, no ice, fryer problems, and a restroom that looks like it lost a battle to someone’s bad burrito decision, this visit was a disaster from start to finish.
Not how you want to start your...
Read moreI have been here many times and there's a few things I'd like to say about this location and company. Chipotle is healthier than most locations so that's a plus. I come here a lot and I can tell when the workers are having a good day and when they aren't. I'll start with the people serving the food. They are all high school kids who don't really seem to care about their job. There's one or two out of the whole bunch that's good at their job, the others stink. They are slow and need constant direction. You can certainly tell they don't want to be there. The person working the grill seems to be rude. He never turns around to even smile at the customers. He always looks angry. Now to the person that makes the app orders, he is so friendly! I'm not sure if he's the only one that does app orders but every time I grab lunch it's him! He's super friendly although he always seems to be in a rush. Now for my least favorite worker, cashier. If you come here you'll get one of four girls; a rather tall white lady with monotone voice but rather fast in pace, a Hispanic women who's always nice and fast, a red hair chick who's friendly but moves a little to fast for amazing customer interactions and then there's the brown hair black one who's my least favorite and ruined my experience all by herself. She was so rude and gives all cashier a bad name which sucks because the other three are actually pretty sweet. The white lady is always fast but she seems so unhappy about being there but she is not a bad worker, the Hispanic one, who I have not seen in awhile, is very pretty but fast. She keeps the line moving but has great interactions with the customers. Then the red hair chick who is also very beautiful is nice and fast but a little to fast. All in all, the Hispanic and red hair cashiers are my favorite but the black one honestly ruined it. She was so rude that she made me want a refund but I didn't want to waste her time. She is honestly a rude individual and I can't see her making it far in life. Some of the people in the back are always laughing and happy so it makes you want to smile. Their energy and happiness is infectious and makes you smile. Over all it's a good restaurant with a few bad apples, and one...
