I rarely preorder games in store, but I was very excited for Silent Hill 2 as I am a huge Silent Hill fan, so I placed a preorder to pick it up in person rather than wait for it to be delivered. When I returned home with the game and opened it, I noticed that the game case and artwork had a slice through it, likely the result of a careless employee opening boxes with a razor blade. The long haired blonde employee at the store would not let me exchange the game for a new copy because it was open. This is extremely disappointing - I am a collector and I really value the condition of my games, especially for franchises that I care about. I understand that the policy is not to accept opened items for return or exchange, but given that I bought the game a few hours before returning to the store to exchange it and that I had/have a photo of the unopened game that shows the damage, I feel that it was clear that the store sold me a damaged item and an exception should...
Read moreMy 9 year-old son and I frequent this store because it is about 2 miles from our house. Most of the time we don't buy anything, but just stop in to look around and chat about video games. My son loves looking at all the Pokemon stuff and for whatever reason playing the demo of Super Smash Bros is better than playing at home.
What I particularly like about this store is that it is kind of like going into Cheers. At least two of the associates there greet me by name. I have received a lot of great counsel when considering purchases. They know me, they know what I like, and based on their extensive knowledge of video games they always steer me well.
Yes, you can get better prices online. But if you catch stuff on a sale you can do quite well here, particularly during their regular buy 2, get 1 promotions on used games. I highly...
Read moreCame into GameStop to do a trade in. Receive a error on my account that the trade in limit was reach (I’ve never made any trade ins at GameStop before) the first associate tried his best while I was in store to rectify the issue. However after making 3 calls to his LP District Manager and store manager no one in the entire company was able to give me a valid or legitimate reason why this occurred. I was suppose to receive a call back which I didn’t. In turn called the store and the female associated told me I was better off calling GameStop customer service number. They completely wasted my time. A 3 day process just to hear call our support line is so unhelpful and frustrating. I’ve spent so much money with GameStop as a company and to know there is no one who can help in truly troublesome. I highly doubt I’ll ever use this...
