This was our second visit to Georgina's. our first visit we had lasagna and it was really good. This time it had some ups and downs. we ordered the fried calamari. the breading was not crispy and quite frankly kind of bland. no taste of Parmesan cheese or Italian seasonings in the breading and it was soggy. I'm used to going to a lot of Italian restaurants that have freshly baked bread on the table before your meal arrives. they do not. they do have the garlic knots but honestly there was so much garlic on it and absolutely saturated with butter that I couldn't figure out where the bread was. the garlic knots were soggy. we both had the spaghetti with meat sauce. we added meatballs and sausage. this dish was delicious. so much sauce and spaghetti and meat that we couldn't finish it so we took some of it at home. the one true downside also was seating arrangements. we were seated in the back by the toilets and the kitchen. okay so we showed up at dinner time so that's sort of understandable not the best seating but we dealt with that. it was a large table for six but at the time it was the only one available. however halfway through our meal the waiter started pulling part of the table about an inch away from us away from us and did not even inform us that someone was going to be sitting next to us. I had to ask. then when he said do you mind and I said yes I do he's still proceeded to see two people right next to us. so we are now elbow to elbow with the diners next to us who we don't know. I was uncomfortable for many reasons. now maybe some people like doing this sitting next to other people but when I go out for a meal but we do not. they should have informed us when they sat us at that table that there was a possibility that there may be other people sitting next to us. that way we could have made an informed decision of whether we wanted to stay or wait for another opening of a more secluded table but that choice was taken away from us. even when I objected they still proceeded with their agenda not considering that we were halfway through our meal and that now we would be sitting in an uncomfortable position which strangers. the seating really needs to be reconfigured to all smaller tables so that they can be moved apart or put together at will. I don't think we'll...
Read moreI attended a group gathering/dinner last weekends. The appetizers werr served buffet style, and were very tasty--particulrly the calamari. Two of the dinner courses-- salad and pasta -- were served family style with no problem. Entrees were a whole different story. For a group of about 40, this restaurant was completely over its head. I think there were three pre-ordered choices, but delivery of the main course took about 20 minutes over all, and individuals were served at all different times with various dishes across five or six tables. At my table, the first entrees were served 10-15 minutes ahead of anyone else, and they were barely warm on arrival. Almost 20 minutes later I finally had to ask for my entree (last in the room) and all the server could say was that some people had changed orders at the last minute. The dinner on arrival was cold. Not a good advertisement for their product. I also noticed that although we were the only seated group, there were lots of take-out pizza boxes and bags lined up on top of the ovens in the kitchen, so they way over-promised their capacity for all that and for us, and it resulted in a very sub-par dinner. This is not a good location for a group event; other dining and take-out may be fine, but I am not tempted to return.
The response tells me that in this instance---not universally--the review was warranted. I approach this kind of situation with the attitude of benefit of the doubt. But receiving a cold plate 20 minutes after everyone had already finished their meals left no doubt. Instead of scolding your customer fot their honest response you could have taken responsibility anf offered a simple apology.

Atmosphere and Service: 6.3/10 – The interior combines elements of a sit-down restaurant with a hint of take-out, creating a unique but somewhat mixed experience. Friendly staff and clean surroundings enhance the welcoming atmosphere. The outdoor seating area is covered and comfortable, though the tables inside are topped with white paper covers, giving it a slightly informal, childlike feel that detracts from the overall professionalism.
Mozzarella Triangles: 7.1/10 – These mozzarella triangles are excellent, made with high-quality ingredients and served at the perfect temperature. The cheese was perfectly melted, achieving a delightful texture. The marinara sauce was well-balanced and complemented the dish, and the price was fair for the quality provided.
Neapolitan Cheese Pizza: 5.3/10 – While flavorful, this pizza did not align entirely with traditional Neapolitan style, as it featured shredded mozzarella instead of fresh. The dough was consistent with expectations and added to the taste, which was satisfying. The price was reasonable, though the pizza felt closer to standard fare than authentic Neapolitan.
Chicken Alfredo Penne: 8.6/10 – This dish is a standout and highly recommended, ranking among the best in Raleigh. The Alfredo sauce was perfectly creamy and well-seasoned, requiring no additional seasoning. The grilled chicken was tender and high-quality, and the penne was cooked to an ideal texture. Given the quality, the price...
