My workmates and I ate here tonight at Don Julio's. It was my first visit to this restaurant in Moultrie. I was definitely pleasantly surprised by the quality of food, the value, and service we received. Everyone enjoyed their food and I personally ordered the molcajete which was fabulous. It is a little on the expensive side at $18, but it is a specialty dish that has a lot of meat. The best value in my opinion is the Don Julio fajitas. You get a ton of meat and vegetables for $15. The chips and salsa are also very good, but the salsa is a little hot. Almost too hot to enjoy after eating a few chips. They could stand to weaken it just a smidget and it would probably be a bigger hit. The flavor however was very good and we ate through a basket fairly quickly regardless of how hot the salsa was. I highly recommend Don Julio's. I believe it to be the best Mexican restaurant in Moultrie and it's a nice new atmosphere. It took us roughly 15 minutes to get our food after we ordered and the restaurant was a little busy but not bad. Also, for those of you that like to drink water their water is very and I'm pretty sure it is filtered. They do not sell bottled water, but if you order the water it tastes fine. I'm a little picky about that so I would appreciate someone letting me know ahead of time. You can't go wrong eating here and it's in close proximity to the Hampton Inn for those who'd like to walk over to the restaurant if staying the night...
Read moreWhen we arrived, no one was available to seat us. We were just a party of 2. We had to wait for the cashier to take care of 3 customers that were paying before we got seated. We decided to sit at the bar and it took at least 10 minutes before anyone came to us. A young man brings chips and salsa and asks if we need anything else, and of course we tell him we want to order food. He looks at us and says, "Oh ok. I'll find someone." We ordered the chorizo cheese dip and a young man brings it to us after a while, then says he doesn't know if it's actually ours, takes it and comes back with it again. It was cold. Waited for our server to come back to let her know it was cold. She brought a completely new order of the dip. When we received our food, we'd not been provided with utensils, so we had to go look for utensils. Anything we needed or asked for took over ten minutes to be provided. The food was bland and the service was not very good at all. Never received the check, so we had to go to the cashier and let her know what we had in order for us to pay. This particular location for Don Julio's is not one I will visit again. It is nowhere near as good in service or anything else as the one in Tifton. Very...
Read moreWe went to eat here on a Sunday, it was very busy and we understood that. But as we waited for our drinks ( which took 15-20 mins) we started wondering if we were ever going to be waited on. As a waitress myself I find it very unprofessional that we ordered and was sat down before other tables yet our food wasn’t brought out until every other person got their food (that’s including people that was sat down 10-15mins AFTER us). I work in a restaurant that is a lot bigger than this one so as we were trying to be understanding we never had anyone refill our drinks, check up on us, or even inform us that our food was coming up. But right as soon as we had enough of it after waiting for our food for a HOUR our food magically came up as we were choosing to leave as we had waited for what felt like forever. Sad to say but not really I will never be going back to Don Julio’s. Honestly wish I could put...
