First off, the food was GREAT!!! My family and I were passing through town, visiting "Mayberry" and we stumbled upon Jack's. The food receives 5 stars as the blackened burger was quite possibly the best burger I've ever had! The Buffalo chicken hogie was great, and I think my wife had the jalapeno turkey melt, which was great as well. I'm also a fan of the fries/seasoning. The reason I'm not giving an all around 5 star rating is because my son's order was wrong. Even after the order was corrected, the sandwich still wasn't made precisely to the order. Even with that being said, the food tasted great! The second reason is due to the facility. I'm all for the ol' school, walk-up/drive thru type ordering; however, if this place had some picnic tables and options to eat around the facility, I think that would take it up a notch! Overall, my wife and I appreciated the "family run" business/operations. If we're ever in the area again, it'll most definitely be a...
Read moreAbsolutely DO NOT skip over Jack's Food Shack. This is one of the most underrated restaurants I have been to so far. It's difficult to put into words the quality and passion that's put into the food.
The chicken was moist and well cooked, the sauce was savory with a bit of spice with veggies on top to cool everything down. The fry's where absolutely amazing! They we're seasoned with not only salt but with other spices, it's a great twist on a classic side dish. I was surprised by the portion size compared to price. You get more than you would a medium Big Mac meal from McDonald's.
There are only two things that I dislike about Jack's Food Shack. One is the lack of a seating area and two are the inconsistent hours of operation.
There is so much potential with this small restaurant, I cannot wait to see it grow into a well known and popular spot to eat...
Read moreLet me start by saying I went to Jack's at least once a week when they were still in the food truck, and it was the best place in town to eat! Now they have moved inside, expanded the menu, and hired new people. Since then the food and service is not as good. My last visit was a few weeks ago and the wings were overcooked, not hot, and poorly sauced when I received them. The wings come with a few fries and I always ask to have them wrapped separately so the sauce doesn't get on them. This time they put the fries in the container with the wings anyway, so they were inedible. The meat on the American Hoagie was somewhat warm even though it's a cold sandwich. The chef salad was missing the cheese! The drip cake was unusually dry, normally they put liquid in the container. All in all, it was a horrible experience! We will be eating at home a lot more...
