Fiesta Grande Mexican Grill is a cozy Mexican restaurant nestled into the edge of the downtown Mount Dora area, offering Mexican inspired dishes and plenty of boozy selections. Value — The overall portion size versus price is pretty on par and what I would expect from a restaurant charging around $16 to $20 per plate. You get a lot of food. Happy hour’s 2-in-1 deal is really nice and runs long enough that you can still get in for happy hour at dinner time. Service — Staff is very nice and accommodating, trying to seat people at the bar until their tables are ready. Very attentive at the table. Quality — I was impressed with the quality of the food. I ordered the steak and chicken fajitas. It was good but I was confused by the rice. Having been to Mexican restaurants from California to Texas and here in Florida, I can’t say I’ve ever had rice with (regular not pigeon) peas, green beans, diced carrots and diced corn. It felt like the rice was bulked up with veggies and it did not quite remind me of traditional Mexican rice so I didn’t understand why it was there. The taste of the rice was good but the mixed-in vegetables did take away from the dish. The refried beans, again, had great taste but were a bit on the loose end. I’d have liked to see a thick mat of beans I’m used to. The margaritas tasted good but I felt the creation could’ve been better executed if there was real fruit used rather than just a juice mixture added depending on the flavor ordered. They were good, but not special to us. The fajitas were very well cooked and very well flavored. The vegetables on the sizzling pan were seasoned through and through, and it added a lot to every bite. The attention to flavor detail here is very good. Atmosphere - A beautifully decorated restaurant with many colors and call backs to Mexico hanging on the walls. If I’m being a bit picky, the low pile carpeted floors really do take away from the atmosphere of this restaurant. I think if the day came that the owners decided to redo the flooring, a traditional Mexican tile flooring or clay-style cut flooring would just take this place over the top for looks, I have to tell you! Otherwise, great job making use of this space. It is a wonderful atmosphere for a date night. Overall — Fiesta Grande Mexican Grill has the potential to be the best Mexican restaurant in town, but I feel they have some room for improvement, minimally. However, these minimal adjustments (removing the random veggies from the rice, thickening up the beans, updating the out of place carpet, using real fruit in their drinks and not juice, make your own chips in house and don’t pour them from a bag) would make for a maximum outcome. I place Fiesta Grande Mexican Grille at 3.8 stars. I will definitely be returning to try other dishes and savor other drinks with friends. This place is by far one of the good ones.

Okay SO both the food and service here were EXCELLENT. The salsa was very fresh with a great spice level for me albeit too spicy for my parents however we all thoroughly enjoyed the guacamole. That molcajete (shrimp) was honestly one of the best things I have eaten at any mexican restaurant anywhere (and I have been to maaaaany) hands down. It was phenomenal! Our waitress was very friendly as well as attentive to all of our needs. I REALLY wish I could leave a 5 star review here but this was far and away the LOUDEST restaurant I have EVER eaten at in my life! We sat outside on their patio and my god it was like I was in a nightmare of noise. I am sensory sensitive but my parents with me are not and my dad actually had to get up and leave before he was fully finished eating because he could not handle the noise level. We could not hold much of a conversation. Had my meal not been SO spectacular to capture my attention to the degree it did I would have had to walk out immediatly upon being seated. Its hard to even understand how it was so loud. Yes, there were a lot of kids out there but I have been in chuckee cheese restaurants quieter than that. I think its the design of the pation The acoustics out there just amplify the sound to extreme decibles. It was wild. Maybe sitting inside would be better? The food would be worth giving it a try or at the very least ordering take out because, again, its FANTASTIC!

We stopped in Mount Dora to visit some shops and look around. We looked all over town for a place to eat and there were many. We saw that Fiesta Grande had excellent reviews and we love Mexican food. We thought we would give them a try. We stopped in about 2:30 and they were not that busy at that time. We were sat right away and we started looking over the menu. All the kids meals were 8 dollars. The menu appeared to be a dinner menu and the prices were high for this type of Mexican restaurant. It seemed most of their reviews were for alcohol, oops my mistake. My grandson order chicken nuggets and a salad. I ordered 2 cheese enchiladas à la cart. Nuggets were nuggets but the salad was a good sized salad with crisp lettuce, cheese, pepper green and red, and juicy tomatoes. The enchiladas had more cheese on top than inside. They were bland. The red sauce was bland and tasted like a burnt rue. I ordered some of the house hot sauce. It was flavorful but had little heat. The food and service was marginal. I wish I had ordered a margarita, maybe it would have improved the dining experience. I will stop in again and give them another try in the future. The table next to use order fajitas which smelled good.

I was here few years ago excellent service, sadly I can't said the same thing this time I ordered food by phone on 05/18/2024 when I called, I asked for someone who speaks Spanish Why? Because this is a Mexican restaurant someone should speak Spanish obviously. Who answered was laughing because of that , and then the made me wait for like 15 minutes to take my order, when I got there I was waiting for someone to help me, and again nobody was able to do it so I went to the Bar and asked for my order and oh surprise it was the same person who made me wait for 15 minutes on the phone..he only wants to speak English and that's how I was talking to him . because he wasn't nice on the phone that he made me this it was because of my language, for my this is racist if this is a Mexican restaurant why refuse to help people who's speaking Spanish and I know this is America but I feel more comfortable speaking my native language

Fiesta Grande is one of the only places in Mt. Dora (as of March 2021) that has vegan options. The staff are nice, the place is a tad loud, but the food was surprisingly tasty. We got the vegan spinach enchiladas and the veggie "chick'n" fajitas. The fajita platter was well seasoning and not drenched in oil. At so many other restaurants veggie fajitas are just oil fried veggies with no seasoning, but Fiesta Grande did not disappoint here! Docking one star for two consistency reasons. The waitress was perfect and understood veganism to the point where she had to check with the kitchen on a couple things. 1. The guacamole is not always vegan. Sometimes the kitchen mixes milk in it, and 2. The flour tortillas are made with butter and the kitchen does not allow corn tortillas with the veggie fajitas. So I had to eat my fajita with chips instead. Fix these two issues and boom! 5 star easily.

Great food! Amazing margaritas. My favorite was the Pineapple Spicy margarita. We also tried the margarita flight. Delicious! Elote corn appetizer was good. Stuffed poblano peppers was hands down amazing & very big. Can be shared! Taco salad with streak was great! Will return again many times.
