Update: The owner personally reached out to me. She was kind and understanding. I appreciate this as at the time of my initial review, I was pretty upset. I will say that sometimes the customer service is not the best, however the owner made up for that. Thank you for calling.
I will continue to frequent this location as the smoothies are awesome. I ordered from the mobile app. I did not mean to order from this store (even though this store is a store I frequent). I understand that was my mistake. When I called to cancel the order, the manger at the store was extremely rude and lacked customer service. She told me there was nothing she could do about refunding the order to me. She offered no solution. She actually hung up on me while I was trying to figure out a solution as I don’t think it’s okay that I spent $15 for NOTHING. Restaurants either refund or can send a gift card. I literally gave them $15. I was at the Clermont location trying to figure out what to do. I called back and told them I can’t drive from Clermont to Mt.Dora so they would have to trash my order. She said ok and again hung up on me. That’s unacceptable. I frequent this location, while yes I made the mistake in ordering from that location and from the app, there should be something that can be done in case this does happen. Food takes forever, tends to be made wrong. Employees are usually rude. I called today and the girl just said "mount dora" and sat there silently waiting for me to talk.
The atmosphere feels like a hospital cafeteria. The lighting is bad and it feels very cold and uncomfortable. The chairs are uncomfortable and the tables are ALWAYS sticky.
If you want the best possible food, do NOT get takeout. It will be melted and/or made wrong. Either that, or you will sit there for 30 minutes after your pickup time waiting for it to be ready. The fruit on the bowls are always browned and old looking. They rarely look fresh.
The employees don't care, food takes forever, is rarely made properly, and they don't heed warnings for allergies and replacements. I am allergic to pineapple and warned them twice, only for the smoothie to have pineapple and have to be remade.
Food is WAY too expensive for the bad quality, bad service, and wait times.
To add: I looked over past reviews and found responses from the owner that I am pretty sure is breaking some sort of privacy law? Read moreI’ve been coming to this location since they opened. I always order the Island Green. Today, I decided for the first time to order a Chia Banana Smoothie instead of the same thing I order every time I come in. I asked for no chia seeds. That’s when the worker at the counter, MacKenzie, told me that “the drink comes in a pack so it’s all mixed together” and explained that there is no way to make the smoothie without chia seeds. I wound up just getting the Island Green again.
My wife was with me and told me she thought that MacKenzie simply did not want to make the drink, as she has ordered it before with no chia seeds and told me usually every drink is customizable.
So I got curious and when we got home, I checked their menu… and you can definitely order a chia banana smoothie without chia seeds to this same location for pick-up. So I’m a bit confused why I was told no.
It sounds to me like either MacKenzie did not want to make it or is not properly trained on how to make the drinks. I would request for management to follow up and fix this issue as I was disappointed to learn that I could have gotten what I originally wanted to order...
