Hmm. Very disappointed. First of all they charged $15 for a cheesesteak, do I thought I’d find gold in it. Instead, I found uncooked meat in the section that I bit into, do I was afraid to eat the rest of it. It took me awhile to get back there, because of all the rain. Like 4 days. I did call to see if they’d refund my money after so many days. They said yeah, but I found it odd that they never apologized for my unsatisfaction. Anyway, I finally made it in today, with my “old” sandwich. The young girl walked away in the middle of me explaining to get her manager. She was teasing me because I’d taken so long to return it, which I get, but again, no apology for the uncooked meat. She did make me another one instead of refund because of time. That was fine. Then I figured I’d try the funnel cake fries while I was there. This seemed to annoy the girl working the register. And it was 9 bucks! Anyway, I got home. They only filled up the fries halfway, but they were good. As for the cheesesteak—-everything was good in the cheesesteak, except the actual steak. The poppy seed bread roll was banging. The fried onions and white American cheese went great together (as they usually do). It was a big sandwich, but the steak was just like Steak Um to me. Nothing special. For all that I could have came across the street here to Gaetano’s, or even Francesca’s. Okay, I’ve had the supposed best in South Jersey. I...

Wow. Just wow. This was my first experience here and I am just blown away. I don’t review many places I visit these days because I just don’t feel the need to. Nothing surprises me anymore. Donkey’s Place in Mount Holly? Now THAT surprised me on a WHOLE new level. I’ve been living in the Mount Holly area for about a year now and it’s a great place to live. Nice people. You’re close to Philadelphia. You have so many options to eat and so much to do. It’s just a great town to reside in. Today, on my way to the local post, I saw this place walking down the street and thought to myself, “Hmm.. I am pretty hungry.. let me give it a shot!” I even heard a big critic once ate here and said it was THE BEST cheesesteak in the world. Now I know that can be very subjective but.. I believe him now. I just got what the nice woman at the counter said to get! She recommended the original cheesesteak with onions and cheese! That’s it! You’d think NOTHING of it, right? WRONG. As soon as I took my first bite of a Donkey’s cheesesteak, my mind went to a different place. Sort of like in Soul! When you were in “the zone”! I couldn’t stop enjoying every second of that sandwich! Just WOW man. I WILL be coming back here for more. Thank you so so much for a wonderful first experience! If you’re looking for some GREAT food, look NO further and give this...

My new favorite place in mount holly area.

First, hard to find the first time. Basically, this hidden gem, is in the big parking area, across from the jail. Where you park to walk downtown Mount holly. Actually, a great location.

Second, Chicken cheese steak best chicken sandwich around. The chicken is not diced up, its a couple thin breasts on a poppyseed kaiser. Actually, genius.

Third, i recommend a warning label for extra hot pepper oil. Im a hot pepper guy. I like em’ grilled with meat and loaded in. Donkey’s has a choice of cherry pepper relish or a really hot pepper oil. Don’t just eat one of the hot hot peppers. I might spread it on next time but but straight is hot. And i can eat cherry peppers straight from the jar.

Fourth, me and the wife like to get takeout on Fridays, my work is rugged and I’m done on Friday and the last thing i want to do is dishes and cooking. And i don’t know about y’all, but i love a dessert with my takeout. And donkeys Doesn’t have a dessert choice, and I’m not stopping at a second place. So missed my dessert.

Cheese cake slice, or canoli. Something like that...

Man, I'm going to have an unpopular opinion here - but it was just ok food-wise. My favorite part of the meal was my root beer float. You can't go wrong with Stewart's Root Beer and vanilla ice cream, but I wasn't really there for that. The fries were delicious too - plus there were overflow fries in the bag (like Five Guys does). The cheesesteak was good/just OK. My usual (for cheesesteaks) is a steak with provolone, light fried onions. That's what I got. Roll was fresh (round- which is their thing- with poppy seeds), cheese and onions were a perfect ratio to meat, but I felt like the meat was just a step up from a Steak-umm in terms of flavor and consistency, which kind of ruined it for me. The sandwich was big though - I only ate half. The atmosphere was great. I like being able to sit outside, plus their tables have umbrellas for some shade. The day we went, they had live music, so we got to sit out there and really enjoy ourselves because it wasn't busy. I don't know that I need to go back with so many choices around for a good steak. Hope this helps!

My first time visiting and seen pickles on the menu. I asked the cashier did they make fried pickles. She said No but she offered to make them for me. I was like what?? Okay Cool..That's the holiday spirit I was looking for when I was struggling to be in good spirits! OMG!!! If you are looking for fried pickles ask Donkeys! lol, Save the trip to the shore. I feel like acting like a Donkey dipping them in their special Bam Bam sauce! I think that's what it's called! So good! She did a good job! 10 Stars..Hospitality, friendly, quick, fresh and courteous! They got me lol I hope they add fried pickles to the menu!! Thank you Donkeys straight Outta Mt.Holly! 🤗
