Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Mount Holly Township

This location recently opened. I've been to many other Rita's locations in the past and have never been served anything like I was served today. I ordered a small chocolate/vanilla twist in a cone. I was handed the smallest ice cream cone I have ever been served!! I literally laughed out loud and asked if this was actually what they are serving as their small portion and was told that it was I told them they could keep it and left. I was not going to pay almost $5 for the tiniest amount of ice cream ever! I really wish I had taken a picture of it before I walked away! The ice cream was barely 1.5 inches above the top of the cone. I could see the inside walls of the cone. The width of the ice cream portion was so small. All outside holes at the top of the cone were completely visible since the portion of ice cream was so miniscule. Usually the ice cream extends at least to the outside edge of the cone, if not beyond. Needless to say, I won't be heading back to that location if they continue to serve ridiculous portions!! Hopefully the owners and/or management can look into the portion sizes because I cannot imagine that people would be willing to pay that price for a baby sized...

The custard and Italian ice was delicious and the portions were comparable to the other Rita’s I’ve been to. I did read the reviews before going and someone mentioned a language barrier. What I noticed here was 5 employees with only one working. The girl with the “language barrier” was the only one doing any work. She took our order, and made it entirely herself while the other employees stood there chit-chatting doing nothing to help her or anything productive at all. So if the problem is the “language barrier” maybe the other employees should help this worker instead of standing around...

This is the best Rita's in the area. Why pay more at local spots when you have more variety and fresher ice! Portions are large for the prices. All the employees seem to be happy and welcome you with a smile. Can't beat their PB mudslide concrete! I've been multiple times this past Summer and am sad they are closed...
