Motherās Day Brunch Disappointment
We were really looking forward to enjoying Camilleās Motherās Day brunch and had made reservations well in advance for our party of five. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations.
When we arrived at our reservation time, we were escorted to a table clearly set for four. The host staff seemed confused or unprepared to accommodate our group size, despite the reservation. We were left standing awkwardly in the middle of the dining area while the hosts deliberated, then asked to return to the front of the restaurant so they could āfigure something out.ā
We were told it would be just a two-minute wait while they reconfigured a table. However, 15 minutes later, we were offered a four-person table outside. This would have required us to walk back and forth through the dining room to access the buffetāa less-than-ideal setup, especially given the occasion.
While the restaurant itself appeared not to be full at the time, it was clear that the hostess team was overwhelmed or undertrained. For a restaurant that positions itself as upscale, the front-of-house experience needs to reflect that level of service and professionalism. Unfortunately, the staff working the hostess station today did not meet that standard, and we ultimately left without dining.
We hope this feedback is taken seriously and helps improve the guest experience...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreArrived for our 6pm dinner reservation, which turned out to be entirely unnecessary as there were only 3 tables with patrons at that time. (Things had filled up quite a bit by the time we finished). Nice ambiance near the fireplace, and our server was efficient. We all had the filet for dinner with sides of mushroom Risotto, smashed Yukon potatoes, and French fries. Everything was spot on. Highly recommend the fries, which were wonderfully hot and crispy, and came with a delicious garlic aioli. For dessert, we got the Tiramisu, which was disappointing. The description said ladyfingers soaked with coffee and rum. I love a good boozy Tiramisu, so my hopes were up. Wah wah. The ladyfingers were practically dry and flavorless. Could taste neither coffee nor rum. The low point of the evening and the real dealbreaker here was the music. They had on some horrible Sirius channel or Playlist of this God awful techno, synth-rave nightclub music. Totally not suitable for what is supposed to be an upscale restaurant. We asked if a different channel could be played, and apparently the answer is NO, because "the owner likes this station". Oh, and no table bread. All good steakhouses give you a bread (Morton's, Hyde Park Prime, Flemimgs, etc.). Food was good but we...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWanted to give a massive shout out to Erika at Camille's Prime for going WAY above and beyond to make this the absolute best Fatherās Day dinner for our family this evening. Not only did she reach out on here a few days ago when I was asking for local recommendations where to find crab, she actually had the restaurant call me after I set up my reservation to let me know that Camilleās would technically be closed due to staffing but that we could still order off the menu. We EVEN ended up getting the whole restaurant (mostly) to ourselves and she came in JUST to serve us (two facts I didnāt know until after we got there).
I donāt know about you, but Iāve never had such exceptional service. Definitely not for a random stranger on Facebook. The whole meal was amazingly delicious and went so far beyond my best expectations. So any of you on the fence on whether to check the place out, I definitely recommend, 20/10. If youāre lucky maybe youāll even get to meet Erika yourself.
PS, always remember to tip your...
