Let's start with one HUGE infuriating issue that repeatedly occurs. When you charge $5 for a cup of lukewarm milk with a few pumps of espresso the cup should at least always be FULL! [see pictures] Here are pictures on two separate visits, of a Venti(!) and Grande before I had taken a single sip. The Venti is literally 3/4 full at best. In both cases I'm apparently paying for FOAM and AIR. And I know as soon as I pick up my cup I've been ripped off because I can feel how light it is every time. Why bother with sizes when you are putting a Grande amount of "coffee" in a Venti cup? And why bother concealing it under a lid when with this amount of space you have NO worries of spillage (and also its never hot enough to burn anyone, anyway). Now don't get me wrong, I still love SB. The staff here is always friendly and the Wi-Fi is very helpful. Also, this brand new SB is beautiful once inside with a lot of seating and a great long meeting table in back alcove that most people haven't caught onto yet, so you can usually get work done in peace (although the raw wooden chairs throughout the whole store are absolute butt-numbers). So I'd just implore SB managers at ALL stores to please train staff to CONSISTENTLY(!) keep the foam and/or whipped cream to about 1/4 inch instead of giving paying customers cups of air! Otherwise they just may start going to Dunkin' and getting 5 cups for the price of ONE of...
Read moremy friends and i took a long roadtrip from philadelphia, pa, to charleston, sc. when we went to leave for our trip, my friends wanted to stop at a starbucks before we got on the road. we stopped at this starbucks and went inside the store (very clean btw). i sat at a table and waited for my friends to order. i had my emotional support yeti water bottle with me that means the world to me. with the stress of the long drive ahead of us, i accidentally left my yeti at the starbucks. i didnt realize it until about an hour into our drive back home. i cried when i realized. when i got home that night, i cried to my mom about how i lost my yeti and it was gone forever. she told me to call the store in the morning to see if this starbucks had it. luckily, i spoke to richard, the manager, and he was the kindest person ever. he understood my situation and i offered to send him how ever much money to ship it back to philly to me. i appreciate richard’s kindness in helping me out, and also the employees of the store’s honesty for not taking it for themselves (bc if this happened where im from it most likely would’ve been taken) everyone we came into contact with was so incredibly nice. this was honestly the best starbucks ive ever been too because of how clean and nice and good the drinks were. thank you richard for getting my yeti...
Read moreIf I could rate the elements of this Starbucks separately, the staff would get standard marks for a job well done. The location itself though is an absolute nightmare. One way driving around a Starbucks isn't unusual but the propertt and parking lot is so cramped that when the drive thru line wraps around the building, it blocks any other traffic into the lot from the main entrance. There is maybe 15-20 parking spots for the entire building with no nearby lots to take the overflow like at the old location near Harris teeter. If you're just grabbing an online order, you get to decide between waiting 20+ minutes for the drive thru window or illegally parking to dash in and grab it (that's what I saw most and in sorry to admit my tactic as well) unless there's a miracle and you manage to get a parking spot.
I don't know what harebrained franchissee thought this location was appropriate for a business that is likely to get such volumes of traffic. What about absolute shame for a brand new location to have such a major failing in planning.
I will never understand why Starbucks implemented the online order system without a grab and go parking set up the way...
