Visiting from out of town, we came to Max & Emily’s for lunch on Saturday. The place has a small town vibe. It was fairly busy, but we were able to dine in. It’s a sandwich and soup shop - with a LOT to pick from. You order at the register and then they call your name when the order is ready. (Similar to a Panera feel that way.) I got a #99 grilled cheese - the cream cheese really set it apart. I dipped it in a cup of the roasted red pepper and Gouda soup. Superb! We also got a #63 fiery turkinator. It was classically good - along with the chicken and dumpling soup - everything you’d expect from a good soup and sandwich combo. It was a little pricey but we left full and glad with the choice in a small town we’re unfamiliar with. Grabbed a chocolate chip cookie on my way out. $1.25, huge, good - do it.

First time here and based on the line to order this place gets pretty popular with the locals! Ordering was fast and customer service was great, even down to the kitchen bringing me my meal and saying “I really hope you enjoy”. You can tell there’s a lot of pride in their dishes, the Tom Pesty sandwich was good and I loved the flat bread they used for it, but the broccoli soup was the star of the show for me. Perfect consistency and blend of flavors, my only regret is that I wish I would have gotten a bowl instead of a cup. My lunch was a perfect companion for this bitter cold day out. The vibe reminds me of a New York deli, and the soft lighting gives it a nice bistro feeling. Will definitely recommend to local friends.

If you love Panera, you will faln in love with this place. You order at the counter with their wide variety of sandwiches, wraps, and soups. The. You sit down and they call out your name and bring you your food! I had the Cali Boy with no tomatoes and I couldn't put my sandwich down. The side of chips is a basic little baggy, if they were home made this place would be a 5 stars. There isn't really much service, so that's why they get a 4. The atmosphere is very sports bar-like. Jerseys all over the brick walls and brandished with neon lights. Again, if you like Panera, you will love the food here. Stop on by!

I would give this place zero stars if I could. My experience here was honestly one of the worst I’ve ever had at a restaurant. First of all, I waited for over an hour just to get my food. That’s completely unacceptable, especially when the restaurant wasn’t even that busy. No one bothered to check in, update us, or even apologize for the ridiculous wait. When the food finally did arrive, it wasn’t anything special—definitely not worth wasting so much time sitting around hungry.

On top of that, the staff was incredibly rude. Instead of owning up to the poor service, they acted like we were the problem for asking why it was taking so long. The attitude was unprofessional and disrespectful, and it really ruined the entire experience. Eating out should feel enjoyable, but here it felt like we were being brushed off and disrespected.

Between the long wait, the disappointing food, and the terrible customer service, I will never be coming back here again. Save your time, money, and energy and go somewhere that actually values its customers—because this place...

I've eaten here twice now for dinner on recommendations and both times was disappointed. I received some sort of crescent sandwich a few weeks back and today ate a Philly steak. Both were fine, but i thought relatively bland and no real taste of note. I also had a chocolate chip cookie and a cinnamon roll respectively with the meals for dessert, the cookie was good, but the cinnamon role was pretty mediocre compared to what you can get for $.75 at Meijer.

The staff were exemplary and courteous. Certainly above average.

Breakfast may be a different beast entirely, but for those prices (I paid somewhere around $11-13 for each meal), you can find many better dinners, and for my money, I would actually prefer Jimmy John's next door for sandwiches.

EDIT: Breakfast is definitely better, loved the BYOB, several dollars cheaper too. Desserts remain mediocre at that...
