If it was possible to give this less than one star, I would. First off, I will say that the wait staff is kind enough, and if you happen to eat at this disgusting restaurant don't not-tip your waitress. Note that I specifically said "waitress" as I will guarantee you will not see a male server that is not either behind the bar, or helping out from the kitchen. It is not the waitress' fault that the twenty-year old NON Italians in the back microwave up to six-day-old pasta (especially the lasagna; I've never actually gagged before at a restaurant until I've tried their lasagna) with non-microwavable plastic covering the dishes. These "Italian dishes" that people are reviewing here have to either be written under threat, bribery, or because Mike knows them personally and wants to boost his rating. This place is so Italian that the owner added a name to the restaurant to make it seem more Italian. Spoiler alert: there is not and never has been an "Angelo."
I see no reason why anyone would eat here. If you want pasta go to Olive Garden. Hell, go to Noodles and Company, as that is more Italian than this place. The pizza is good enough, and really the only thing I feel like is safe to eat without getting a parasite, but we have Wells Bros, and their pizza blows Mike and Angelo's out of the water. If it's that time of the year Wells Bros is closed, just go to Pizza Hut. They have stuffed crust along side corporate policies that do not allow the place to be as revolting as Mike and Angelo's. And if you simply want to give Mike your money, go to Hammes' on Taylor Ave. At least they have pool.
I know this is a long review and most people won't believe me or think I have a vendetta, I assure you I don't. In fact I love supporting local businesses, but it is places like this that make us as a community look bad. I pray people from out of town never eat here.
If you don't believe me, or need proof I know what I'm talking about, drive in the back of the store at any time of the day and there is a high chance at least one of the boys from the kitchen will be smoking.
Simply put, I don't understand how this place is still...
Read moreThe food is great but their commitment to reimbursing for mistakes is seriously lacking and confusing. We've had 2 mistakes on separate carryout orders. One, was no side of meatballs included. We were told to come back and pickup and no apology offered. When we said we couldn't do that they said we would be sent a check for reimbursement. We got the check! It was for the exact cost of the meatballs + tax. Nothing else. No apology. No $5 gift certificate as an I'm sorry. Nothing. Years later I ordered a small antipasto salad with dressing on the side. We get home and the dressing is on the salad. Ugh. Called and was told to come back. Can't do that. Was asked what I wanted them to do. I replied that I would like my money back. She said she would make a note and talk to the owner. Next day I called ahead to say I would be in to pick up my reimbursement. Was told they can't do a financial reimbursement but would I like another salad. I took the salad because I knew I wasn't getting my money back. Again no apology for the mistake. I understand that mistakes happen and that I was reimbursed in kind for both mistakes but what I don't understand is the lack of kindness and apology for the mistakes. Not sure we'll be back even though we...
Read moreWe went to M&A's with a small group (10 people) during the Thanksgiving weekend. We have had decent experiences in the past at M&A's, so it was an obvious choice for our family get together. However, on this occasion, the waitress serving us was simply awful.
The waitress seemed completely uninterested as she spent most of the time on her cell phone off to the side or sitting at another table with another waitress as they ate food. She took our initial order and we didn't see her again until our food had arrived. We had to go find her to receive refills on our drinks and she often gave disgusted facial expressions when we asked for assistance. We were served a glass with a broken rim and a beverage that had a dead bug floating in it. When we approached her about these as well she was put off, rather than having any empathy.
It was an unfortunate experience and likely more a reflection of the poor waitstaff and not on the entire restaurant as the food was delicious as usual. We were significantly disappointed by the service received and the complete lack of care by the waitress. For any future dining experiences, we will certainly not be willing to have her...
