Oakes Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Mount Pleasant

My father visits this hotel every Christmas (slightly reluctantly) from down south, to spend time with myself and his grandchildren. The night he got into town, they were out of his favorite beer! (This is serious/not very....but kind of) We ended up trying their replacement suggestion and continued to enjoy our night and even though he accepted that, he may find another hotel for his last night in town the next evening. (no hard feelings) Low and behold the next day they stop us at the lobby and inform us that the cooler is completely stocked of his favorite! They remembered who he was by face and it really made my day! (I want him completely happy while in Racine) Also made him happy and comfortable to just stay close to were us locals live (5 mins away) and we appreciated it more than we should have! Unprofessional, terrible service, the food was fantastic so I asked my waitress who was the chef that evening and I believe she said it was Christopher. Thats the only good thing. Otherwise my water glass was dirty, my silver ware had finger prints all over it, & there were at least 5 tables that were dirty when I came in. I sat myself in the restaurant and waited at least 7 minutes before someone spoke to me and offered me a menu. I wouldn't reccomend this place to anyone. My family and I go here all the time. BEST fish fry I have ever had. And it is ALL YOU CAN EAT. Food is great. Service is even better. Tara the bartender is the BEST and Rick, the host, is sooo nice. They are always so accommodating and treat us all so great. It’s obvious they appreciate our business. They will even buy you a drink from time to time....
