My husband and I ordered dinner from DoorDash from smokehouse 20. The food came relatively quick. The only reason why I’m giving this a three star is because of the side dishes. We had a full slab of ribs, a cowboy chicken sandwich, with sides of baked beans, macaroni and cheese, sweet potato tots, collard greens, and french fries. The ribs were very good and well seasoned, and I enjoyed the sweet smoky spicy sauce that was on them. They were also a very good texture. They were tender without being so soft that you didn’t need to chew. That’s something I really appreciate in a good rib. We enjoyed the baked beans too. They were slightly sweet and smoky and just a little bit spicy. They were more savory than what I’m used to in a baked bean, but they were really good. The macaroni and cheese had good texture and a nice cheese pull, but it was a bit bland. I would add some type of sharp cheese and more salt. The collard greens were not what I expected at all. They were way too tangy. And chopped a little too finally for my preference. I was also thinking that I was seeing beans or something throughout the greens, which is interesting. I would skill back on the vinegar and the greens. Otherwise I think they would have been decent. The french fries and sweet potato puffs were really good. The sweet potato puffs were really fun to eat. I just sprinkled a little extra salt on top and they were very very good. We would definitely order from here again, but maybe not order the...
Read moreAlmost gave a 1 star, but our waitress was great and the atmosphere was beautiful. The food would have been good, but NONE of it was hot. It was room temperature food. It was not even luke warm. Tasty baked beans!! The Moink Meatballs might be better if made fresh. You can certainly tell they are premade frozen meatballs. Sweet potato tots are delicious, but again not hot. The mac and cheese was horrible! Worse Mac and cheese I've ever had. Watery and no flavor at all. I would rather of had Kraft Mac and Cheese and I hate boxed mac and cheese. Food presentation was boring. You need to up your game if you want to survive as a thriving restaurant. Get someone experienced in the kitchen!! I wish I could run that kitchen. How about a few haystack onion rings on the ribs, rubbed chicken quarters with some side of broth, baked potato (loaded) on the menu, oven heat your plates and keep under good heat lamps and cook what takes the longest to make first so the quicker meal doesn't get cold as it sits and waits for the longer meal. Better hand wipes. The ones you have smell like mold. In fact, we had to ask for wipes! Dinner music would be nice. ...
Read moreFirst and foremost, folks, this is NOT a smokehouse! I caught this as soon as I walked in. There wasn't any smokehouse smells at all. This should have been my first clue to just go somewhere else.... I ordered the 1/2 rack of baby backs with sides of collard greens and a side Caesar salad. The wait staff were nice enough but totally looked disheveled. Flannel shirts, un-buttoned, sweatshirts, etc. Did not look professional at all. Again, nice people, but, come on. All of my food came out at once, which is okay with me. the collard greens were very tasty, the side Caesar was huge and very good. The baby-backs.... pre-sauced, re-heated, and believe it or not, COLD. When I mentioned that to my server he said " that's weird", that was it.... I guess if you're staying at the hotel and you don't want to drive anywhere, you can get food here. If you're looking for a good smokehouse / bbq joint, drive somewhere else. As for restaurant decor, meh, wooden boards nailed to the wall. No character at all. So much potential wasted here.... Oh, and by the way, I'll eat my shoes, and I wear nice shoes, if when I drive around the hotel I see a...
