Poke Bros. — Restaurant in Mount Pleasant

Food was good but the customer service was not. I work in the shopping center where this Poké Bros is located. A friend of mine gave me a Poké Bros punch card where if you buy 9 bowls the 10th one is free. My punch card had one punch from my friend using it earlier which was good. So I decided to go give it a try and see what it was like. I arrived during lunch time. I looked at the menu and decided to get the Shaka bowl because it has chicken on it. The kitchen staff doesn't speak English that well so I think it made it very hard to understand each other. The language barrier made it hard to order the type of rice in the bowl. I then let them know I wanted the Shaka. They put shrimp in it instead of chicken. I then told them that the Shaka according to the menu says chicken not shrimp. This took a while to explain because of the language barrier. They remade it and that was fine. I paid for a drink but when I went to the ice machine there was no ice and one staff member told me it would be 5 to 10 minutes for ice. It looked like someone was video chatting with a supervisor on how to fix the ice machine. So I just walked to Moe's and filled my cup with ice. Also the Poké Bros punch card I mentioned earlier... I handed them my card that had already one punch so I was expecting to get my card with a 2nd punch. The staff member gave it a 2nd punch and then put it away and gave me a whole new card that was back to one punch. I also never got a receipt for my order either. I brought my food to work... The other employees asked how was it... I just said good was good... But service wasn't...

Very disappointed, visiting from Charlotte and was excited to see a poke bros. Complete opposite experience from our usual location. Staff was very rude and made us feel like an inconvenience for ordering and completely rushed us through our order, 2 hours before close. They were also out of most of the proteins and only had unseasoned tuna/salmon left, but didn’t tell us until we were adding proteins to our bowl. Also, lots of the ingredients are an up charge and they don’t tell you unless you explicitly ask. I highly suggest adding signs to your ingredients to be more transparent with clients (like the other location we go to does). The rice looked old and the protein portions were tiny. The flavor of the bowl was fine so 2 stars for that, but my fiancé got salmon in his and had to spit out multiple pieces for being too fishy. I read complains before about their price, friendliness and the freshness as well as the amount of food you’ll get for your Dollars. I was curious and checked out this place much more often. Here are my results:

I love their Salmon Salad (always fresh)

The protein portions are a bit small. I get it. Salmon is expensive. Even when buying at the grocery store. But I have to admit. The scoop they use is just a bit to small and adding an extra portion will cost you more. That’s a little bit much.

So far employees have been always very friendly even if some might not like to talk a lot or might not speak English
