I wish there were enough words in every language to truly capture how incredible my experience was at The Gown Boutique of Charleston. From the very first phone call to the moment I found the dress, every part of the process was absolutely lovely.

I scheduled my appointment for April 4th, 2025, with my wedding set for November of the same year. Other bridal shops I contacted made me feel like I was behind and pressured me to rush into decisions. Not GBC. When I called and mentioned my wedding date, I apologized, thinking I was cutting it too close. But the incredibly kind woman on the phone immediately put me at ease, reassuring me that we had plenty of time and there was no need to stress. I wish I had gotten her name—she truly set the tone for what would become a wonderful experience.

On the day of my appointment, I arrived with my mom and best friend. We were greeted with warm smiles and such genuine kindness. I was lucky enough to be helped by Janet, who is honestly one of the sweetest, most thoughtful people I’ve ever met. It was like she could read my mind—she always seemed to know exactly how I felt about a dress before I even said a word.

There were so many beautiful options to choose from, but Janet made the process feel effortless. She took the time to really talk with me, listen to what I liked, and understand the style I was going for. She used that insight to narrow things down in such a thoughtful and intentional way—and somehow, she found me the perfect dress.

She had such vision and creativity when it came to styling and helping me create my perfect bridal look. I truly couldn’t have done it without her.

My experience with the Gown Boutique was AMAZING! I was so impressed with every step of the process! I went into about 4-5 different bridal shops when I began my dress search, and immediately the Gown Boutique struck me as the nicest and most well-run boutique of those that I visited in Charleston. I was immediately welcomed and they worked hard to find gowns that may work for me and my vision of what I wanted! They made suggestions and gave me some dresses that I wouldn't have picked up myself, and I ended up falling COMPLETELY in love with my gown the first day of looking! I didn't want to take the gown off and knew right then that it was the one! I bought my gown almost a year and a half in advance, and never had a single issue. They were very responsive anytime I wanted to come try it on, and were super helpful every step of the way! The tailor who did all of my alterations along the way was AMAZING and my dress literally fit like a GLOVE on the day of the wedding. She was willing to work with me on whatever I wanted, and did AMAZING work! All of the girls working at the shop were so sweet and lovely to work with!! I can't say enough about them, and especially about the alterations they did! I was amazing with what she was able to do for me, and my dress couldn't have been more perfect! They all clearly know what they're doing, and have experience in the bridal industry that shows in every step of the process! My dress was beautifully pressed and ready for my wedding day and they helped us get it into the car just perfectly so it would be perfect for my wedding day! Love, love, love!! Would recommend them SO highly and they have such a range of dresses and accessories available! My dress was affordable, but I knew I got amazing quality from the Gown Boutique and couldn't have been happier...

When I booked my appointment I was positive that I would not leave with a dress. I had only just gotten engaged. We hadn’t even picked a venue or date yet. So it was my first time trying on bridal. Let me tell you… I am picky about dresses — I am the girl who tried on over 30 dresses for my high school prom. I need to see EVERYTHING. I was able to send in some inspiration pictures prior to my appointment which helped Jamie get an idea of what I was looking for. When we walked in we were warmly greeted and Jamie talked to me about what I was thinking of for my wedding. While my party sipped bubbly, Jamie ushered me around the boutique pulling dresses in my price range that she thought fit my inspiration pictures. Then there was this dress hanging on the far wall. I could not stop staring at it. I asked the price and Jamie happily looked and pulled the dress for me to try despite it not quite fitting with my imagery. Because I picked the dress - Jamie had me try that one first. And I lit up. Naturally, as I have a hard time making decisions, I tried the rest of the dresses that we had pulled. But every dress I tried I just compared to that first one. No smile compared to the one I had on the entire time in that first dress. And Jamie commented on how every time we went back to the dressing room, she caught me looking at that first dress. So we put the first dress back on and indeed it was MY dress. Then we had some fun trying on veils and accessories to get an image of how I could look walking down the aisle. And toasted the finding of my perfect dress on the first day out.
