It is said that one definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. I've honestly rarely had a decent experience at any Kickin' Chicken, and this time was no different. The only reason I ever go back there is because my son very much likes their food and I am a cockeyed optimist. The waitress who served us was totally spacey, and I could not make her understand my request to have a Caesar salad with no kale in it. How difficult is that? On the menu lists kale as an ingredient in the Caesar salad and I explained to her that kale makes me sick. It took three times before she finally looked like she understood. When the food came out, the salad I was brought was more kale than romaine! I had asked for light dressing. It had a good quarter of a cup of dressing piled on top of it. It was a side salad! I sent it back, and told the person who had brought it that I wanted very light dressing on my romaine Caesar salad. I got the romaine, but I got exactly the same amount of dressing. It was disgusting. I ordered ranch rubbed wings and pterodactyl wings. The pterodactyl wings were very good. The ranch wings were inedibly salty. When the bill came I asked to speak to the manager. A manager came over and I explained the situation with the salad and said that it was not at all to my liking. I said that the wings were inedible, and he began to argue that the wings just had a rub on them and they didn't add salt to it. He would not admit that the rub itself could possibly be too salty to eat. In the world of restaurants that operate appropriately, I believe the proper protocol when a patron tells you that something is inedible, is to merely say "Yes Ma'am, I'm so sorry. I will be glad to remove it from the bill." He continued to try to argue with me even as he was taking the check and my card. I am done, once and for all, with any restaurant in this chain because their employees are all equally...

Been twice. First time was a faceplant on the service end, and meh on the food. Reviewed as such. Customer service and management reached out to me to apologize and invite me back for a second try. Full disclosure, our meal was comped, but this is still an honest review.
Our return visit was a significantly improvement over the first. The service this time was top-notch. Granted, we had managers and our server checking on us so often it was borderline overkill, but all the tables I saw were being waited on better than before as well, so it seems they stepped up everything. Everyone working seemed more attentive.
The food was much better as well. Everything came as ordered in a timely manner. Wife got the philly and it was pretty awesome. I got some dry rub wings that were very tasty. My main menu recommendation is more flavors. Right now it's buffalo, honey mustard, teriyaki, bbq, and mixtures of those. I think more variety would go a long way (see wild wing cafe or BWW flavor lists).
Customer service and management get an extra star for taking measures to help maintain the reputation they've built so far and keeping their customers happy. That...
Read moreI decided to order some food for our employees this past Saturday, and they wanted wings. I figured who better than Kickin' Chicken. So, I ordered 25 wings and one quesadilla for pick up. Order was supposed to be ready at 12:38. I got there and did not receive a greeting for the first few minutes I was there and didn't get my order until 5-10 to 1:00. No big deal as long as the food's good, although I was at work and a 10-minute delay is not a good thing. The wings were cooked good and the wings were of good size. The only issue is that we ordered Buffalo sauce - medium - and you could hardly tell there was sauce on the wings just by looking at them. As we ate them, they had hardly no Buffalo flavor. So, we put hot sauce on them and they were really good. It wasn't that the wings weren't hot enough; it's that they didn't have any sauce on them. Because of that and a small wait to get acknowledged and get my food, I give them a 3. They weren't slammed, but moderately busy I'd say. Quesadilla was very good. I'd return again, but I'll just ask...
