Not LGBT friendly. Very disappointed in this Barrel store. I love CB when I travel and try to make it my place to eat on the road. This store failed to meet my expectations of just normal polite service, and IMO deliberately stonewalled my table service. I am a transgendered woman, and was traveling as such (dressed). I am not that difficult to "figure out". I had to wait over 40 min for a table as a single despite the restaurant literally being not very filled. The hostess "misgendered" me twice before she tried a 3rd time and I stopped her. ["Your table will be ready soon, SIR." - and I was in a dress.] This was deliberate disrespect. There were plenty of open tables the whole time I waited. Next came an unnecessarily long wait at the table before I even ordered. I think I was the only person sitting in my section at the time. Over 20 min before I was approached by a waitress. Then, I waited for my food. And waited. And waited. I had to ask another server to go into the kitchen to locate my order. I was literally donning my sweater to leave. The Mgr (I believe) came over to tell me it was coming right out. It didn't. My meal finally arrived. I ate it and got out as fast as I could. And yes, I still left a normal tip despite the horrendous discriminatory treatment. I am not a cad. They made their point. LGBT people tend to wear their sensitivity on their sleeve and often overly react to such social situations. This was not the case. This maltreatment was real and I am deeply disappointed about it. I'm not 'overly sensitive' nor soft either. I was with the Marines for 12 years and Navy another 16, so I can take "rough". I shouldn't have to suffer it at an eatery. BTW, I ate at 2 other Cracker Barrels during my long 4000+ mile road trip, and they were excellent with the same great food and service I have come to expect.
If you don't wish to serve Trans people, just say so up front instead of wasting almost 2 hours of my travel time. Below my expectations of CB. Date/time of the bad experience was Friday 22 Jan just prior to noon if anyone wishes to look into the culture...
Read moreToday was going good for me. I had just finished dropping my load. Got all weekend off to rest. Plus I had saw Cracker Barrel on my in and wanted to stop in for some breakfast. I love their breakfast. When I got there they rated me right next to an elderly couple. I asked to move to the next seat over so that we could have some space. Before I could order they sat another couple right between us. They did so much coughing the whole time there. Oh boy! I got to order my food. I ordered grandmas sampler. I didn’t get the bacon or ham. I did order and extra sausage patty. I got that. I made it plainly known that I wanted the sausage patty to be extra. I asked for an extra syrup. The waitress said ok and never returned. I had to get a different waitress to bring it to me. While still eating the waitress brought me my bill. But she sat the tray on the table with dirty dishes on it from a different table. Then went into the kitchen and came right back out with the coffee pot. Did she even wash her hands? I said I’m alright. It started out good because the food was good. But te service was terrible. I mean seriously who sets a trey of dirty dishes from a different table onto your table while you are still eating? Who does that? And then brings you the coffee service without washing her hands? Now I’m wondering if she washed her hands when she treated up my food and brought it to me? And then with those same unwashed hands served me my food. What part of cross contamination doesn’t this Cracker Barrel understand? And to make matters worse is I think management was standing there watching the whole thing. I think that was management. I hope it wasn’t but who knows? Of course you know that I didn’t leave a tip. Normally I do, but not this time. I gave it a 2 stars for the delicious food only. Almost forgot. In all the other pictures of breakfast you see they got biscuits. The lady asked what type of jelly I wanted and I asked for strawberry. I specifically made it known that I wanted the biscuits. I...
Read moreMy father in law is in a wheelchair, which I told the hostess when I told her that we needed a table for 4. We were seated at a regular table with tables close on either side. He could not fit the wheelchair in between our table and the one next to it, so he had to sit at the end. The table leg was blocking his way, so he could only get so close to the table. My husband said that there were handicapped accessible tables, but we were not seated at one. Service was considerably under par. Our waitress,(Jessica) seemed to be unhappy with her job. It took a really long time to get our food. Either the food is kept at an unsafe temperature, or it sat too long after they dished it up, because it was lukewarm. When she finally came to bring our meals, she tells us "oh, we don't have any mashed potatoes, I can get another side for you". Three of us had ordered mashed potatoes, so it was disappointing. Some of us ordered biscuits and others ordered cornbread. We didn't realize until she left the table that there were not any pieces of cornbread. She didn't return to check with us until we were almost done eating. We told her at that time that we wanted cornbread. She actually took her pad out and looked at it and said "you were only supposed to get three." We told her we didn't get any. When she returned with three cornbread muffins, she reached over and dumped them roughly in the basket, almost throwing them. We didn't have enough butter, but she was already gone before we could mention that. She came back in 10 minutes or so and handed us our check. Apparently she decided for us that we were not having dessert. When she returned to start taking plates she set her tray down on the table to put plates on it. When my husband went to pay the bill, the cashier (Alyssa) asked "was everything okay?" When he replied "actually we have a few issues", the cashier said "okay, your bill is "$$", not asking what the issues...
