I love Dairy Queen, but after tonight's episode at this establishment, I'm not sure if I'll ever go back. I placed my order of toast, gravy, and 2 lg. blizzard's at 6:16pm. Now aLittle busy, but by no means super busy. I spent the next 30 minutes talking with the couple that ordered after me. When I went to the counter to ask why it's taking so long I got a very snarky "we're busy". The gentleman who I was talking to decided that 30 minutes was too long for 2 ice creams, asked for his money back. When the "Manager " came to the counter, she threw her keys onto the counter and asked for his receipt. When he started to tell her why he wanted the money back, She Rolled Her Eyes! Oh heck no! I lost my temper and said that " Dont you roll your eyes at him! How dare you roll your eyes. Your a Manager". At this point the cashier said "I'm sorry, were busy." And I said, "I can understand that but your showing him and I more respect than the manager is." I looked back at the Manager and said that I've worked in the service industry for 30 years and rolling your eyes is never allowed. " Then the kid that was "trying" to fill orders comes up and tells that their busy. I asked why its taking 30 minutes for my order, and I got no response. The kid brings me a tray with the Cold toast and Luke warm gravy. I started laughing, and said that's why your so slow, he cant read the tickets. Mine is a "take out" order. Read the tickets! He goes to show me the blizzards then asks if I want lids. Really, its to go. Of course I want lids. The gentleman who wanted his money back asked for my name and number, which of course I gave him. I have never been so disappointed with...
Read moreI received a gift card from a friend as a graduation gift and went to use it at this store. For some reason, the gift card wouldn’t scan when I tried to pay. The employee at the register told me I couldn’t use it because it had no money on it, which I knew wasn’t the case since my friend had had bought it and it said $10 on it. The manager came over and again told me, very impatiently, that I couldn’t use it but could call the number on the back of the card to complain. I called and the man on the phone told me there was still $10 on the card. I went in to the store to try to use it again, it again wouldn’t scan. I asked the employee if they could enter the number on the gift card instead of scanning it, they had to call the manager over and the manager very impatiently and begrudgingly typed in the number. I had a leftover balance, so I came in again a few days later and warned the employee that this gift card had problems scanning and they would have more luck typing it in. The employee did not listen and tried to scan the card repeatedly about 20 times, then called over the manager who also tried scanning the card about 20 times, then threw it on the counter and left. I again reiterated that the number needed to be typed in, but the employee said he “wasn’t good at it”. Finally, some other employee came over and, grumbling and rolling her eyes the whole time, typed in the number. No one ever apologized or really communicated with me at all about the problem besides implying that it was my fault the gift card wasn’t working. It was not damaged or scratched at all, so I have no idea why it would not scan. Very dissatisfied with the customer service at...
Read moreI go back every so often to see if they've improved. Each time I've been disappointed. At one time they had a server at the drive thru who was very rude and unfriendly. I ordered a medium ice cream cone and got a small. The cone itself was a small cone, I'm not talking only about the amount of ice cream in the cone. I know the difference in size because the Marysville, Stanwood AND Sedro Woolley medium cones were definitely larger, and yes, I was charged for the medium size. On another occasion, at the drive through, I ordered a large chocolate cone, which I received, however, the ice cream in it apparently wasn't cold enough to stand in the cone and it all came melting downward, like a pile of gel... Lots of air bubbles in it too. I had to open my window and let drop what I couldn't save with my mouth. I was passing through and on a schedule so again, I didn't have time to go in and have them fix it. The next time, the ice cream stood up better but was still full of air bubbles. I'm guessing their ice cream machine must be on the brink. Either that, or they're too cheap to turn it up and make it colder. Their regular chocolate milkshakes aren't even as good as many of the franchise fast food burger joints who's specialties aren't ice cream! So far, Marysville has been the best, then Sedro Wooley and Stanwood. No complaints about their DQ's. I'll ty DQ Mount Vernon again in a few months to see if by some miracle, they've improved. Pretty sad because I'd go much more often, since I drive and work in Mount Vernon. Come on, people! ice cream should be much easier for you to get right than a burger, and change your name if you don't want to specialize...
