First, I know Its not Goodwills responsibility to babysit someone's things while they shop and I'm probably to trusting... So I am not blaming the company's policy but this is my experience today: Took the bus to Dept of health to get a copy of my birth certificate and decided to kill a little time while waiting for my ride to get off work for a ride home. I grabbed a few things at the Joanne's closing sale across the street and then went to Goodwill. The cashier let me tuck my bag behind end of the counter & we acknowledged they wouldn't be responsible for it. When my ride got there I tried on 3 items and got on line and checked out The cashier said his manager had taken the bag to the back. When she bright it out she said she barely 'RIFLED' through it, and at first glance seemed okay BUT, ODDLY ENOUGH only thing missing was the 'folder' of Xmas wrapping paper that had my birth certificate in it! Ok, so, my dumbass for leaving it up front... But clearly only person to touch ît was the worker(and there's a camera) but she said she didn't go through it until she was in the back - so ??? ... Again, I'm so mad at myself, but why the attitudes from the mngr? And we certainly didn't receive a 'were on your side' attitude AT ALL!!! (So ya, wish I would've respected your policy!!!) I guess that's what I get- can't believe it cost me my birth certificate! Why that? Shady... .... Maybe it is just simply somehow sitting in the back somewhere- got set aside when it was being 'lightly gone through' or however she put it, ...🙏🏼 I am really sorry creating this situation regardless... Ill follow up again in the morning... Learned my lesson and hope this ends well.... Danielle Harrell This review could certainly change for the better...
Read moreBE Warned!!!.do not support in any way!, this operation is a total misrepresentation, they have little concern for the people that they employ and even less for the people they supposedly claim to serve.
Boycott all Goodwill Industries Stores!!! DO NOT SHOP, DON'T Donate!!This so-called non-profit, so-called thrift store called "Goodwill Industries", is just that an industry!
Many things are overpriced. Many identical items can be found priced with different prices. Or priced, more than new items found at regular retail stores.
The only good will within this operation is in it's name.
Prior to it's move into it's polished new location, I sat many times watching it's sorters throw into dumpsters many - just donated - items, that might have been repairable (or usable to someone).
Remember, it's "alledged" charity is based on sales, if your donation doesn't make it into the store...there can be no sale!
But than again they do not train their employees to repair anything. It seems their main goal is to train for only for retail positions.
Shop elsewhere, either the many other smaller thrift stores in greater Skagit County - such as the Humane Society thrift store, Bargains Galore thrift store, or even Value Village would put your purchases towards a real charitable need.
Donate only to these smaller stores.....or...
Read moreWas shopping, untangling a long necklace and trying on earrings and soon their security guy comes sauntering over. We were chatting about high school and Facebook and thrift shopping. I explained that my passion was jewelry and I showed him the pearls I had found. They were half off of 5.49.
Later on I saw him staring me down when I was in the dishes then I approached a manager and chatted with her. She had good customer service, I might add an extra star just for her assistance. Debbie. God bless Debbie
The HUGE experience was with the other shoppers! People know a plethora of information and are willing to help you read the bottom of a sandwich glass vase! Hilariously was informed that a customer blocking a womans way was her husband and "I've been trying to outrun her for the past 45 years!"
The security guy, Andy, I don't know what to think of him. I knew immediately who he was, having worked security myself.
So, it seemed cleaner than usual. Full of nice dishes. Almost too full. People haven't received their income tax return yet, still paying off Christmas maybe. Anyway, the merchandise was awesome. The customers were funny and observant of my space, helpful too. Security guard, not so much. Won't be back...
