I recently had the pleasure of attending a private event at The Skagit Table in Mount Vernon, and it was truly a fun, delightfully healthy, and educational experience. The evening was a hands-on culinary journey centered around a special Pacific Northwest ingredient—seaweed. We learned why seaweed is so beneficial for the body, how it can be incorporated into everyday cooking, and creative ways it’s used in a professional kitchen. It was informative, interactive, and eye-opening to see how nourishing ingredients can be both delicious and intentional. The menu was thoughtfully curated and absolutely incredible—from a beautiful grazing board and seaweed-topped focaccia, to arancini with seaweed aioli, seasonal salad, and dinner options like seared scallops with seaweed butter, dairy-free vegetarian risotto, and roasted seasonal vegetables. The evening wrapped up perfectly with a rich chocolate mousse. What stood out most was how The Skagit Table sources and prepares ingredients that truly support a healthy body without sacrificing flavor. Every dish felt fresh, purposeful, and crafted with care. Great food, great learning, and even better fellowship—this was an experience I won’t forget. 🌊🍽️💚#seafood #event #skagit #health #bestfood

I was hoping to give a 5 star review to Skagit Table for catering our Christmas Party December 7, 2024. But I can only give it 2 stars. The salmon, rolls, and risotto were good. The roast beef was tough, you could not cut it. The roasted heirloom carrots were raw, you could not put a fork in them. The salad needed more dressing. I had guests asking for more dressing. Only half the lobster soup was delivered, the other half with the lobster in it was left in their kitchen. (The owner did apologize for leaving half the soup in the kitchen and said it won’t happen again and offered a 20% discount on future caterings.)

Skagit Table wants to deliver the food at the exact time of eating, which would have been an hour into the party, which would have been disruptive and awkward for the guests. As the person delivering would have had to weave thru all guests to the kitchen. There was miscommunication in the importance of serving the food as soon as it arrives as it will overcook. The importance of serving the food as soon as it arrives should also be put in their contract. The food was delivered in disposable chafing dishes that didn’t have a water tray underneath to keep the food evenly warm. The sterno fuel can heat was directly under the food tray therefore directing heat to only one spot. Not the experience we expected from...

My fiance and I hired The Skagit Table to cater our wedding reception. We had a couple of special dietary restrictions that we wanted to honor. They were completely open to listening to our ideas and the limitations of some of the people that we invited. It was a very small wedding but they came through in a big way. Every dish was absolutely delicious and every guest complimented the food because they enjoyed it so much. I would hire them again if/when I need them. My now husband and I have talked about taking cooking classes and I will absolutely reach out to them to do that when we're ready. I would also go to their restaurant and enjoy a night out with them and their food as well. I don't think I can say enough nice things about this company, the food they create, the people they hired and the service they provide. I will try to come back when I have photos so I can add some images to this review. What we ordered: Spring vegetable crostini Grilled strawberry bites Cruditase Spring salad with lemon vinaigrette and sourdough rolls Garlic herb roast chicken Roast beef Wild rice with salad vinaigrette Broccolini Crisps with maple whipped...

I often work with Courtney, the owner, when she is catering for weddings. Watching her journey in opening her first brick and mortar has been absolutely incredible. She is one of the hardest working people I know and her passion for what she does comes through in every bite of food she prepares for her customers.

BUT! Let's talk food.

Hands down some of the most delicious food you will ever have. I've never had a bad meal from Courtney. She is passionate about using fresh, local, gluten free, sugar free, soy free, seed oil, and vegetable oil free ingredients. Talk about a true farm to table experience. You can't get fresher than this.

Just walk in and grab some delicious salads or other goodies for lunch, or snag some of the "bake at home" dinners to make your day a little less hectic.

She offers a multitude of catering/chef services outside of the cafe, so if you're wanting a little something extra, just ask! She is one of the most accommodating and creative chefs I've ever met and will be sure to make any dining...
